Oh, this is great! I understand why they have to ask that, but I always hate trying to quantify pain in these terms, especially since 3 out of the 4 times I've been to an ER have involved kidney stones.
I too used to be a PETA member, and give them money. Then I decided if they devoted one fraction of the time, money, and energy to actually HELPING ANIMALS that they do to being controversial, they'd be worth giving money to, but that was no longer the case. But this is a good campaign. I'm pleasantly surprised.
I was reading an article recently about "kidney chains" (I think that's what it was called) in which someone agrees to donate a kidney to a total stranger, in return for someone in that stranger's friends or family agreeing to do the same for someone else.
Dan's a good guy. I'm sure there are stories like this all over that we don't hear about, but it's nice to know there's at least one.
I have a teeny sushi plate, the size of a quarter, complete with wasabi and pickled ginger, that I made with PC. I was very proud of it. :) Miniature food in PC is so addictive. I've also made a salad and a ham hock. But I have to say that fig just blows me away.
The phrase "distribution of wealth" bugs me. It reminds me of an online acquaintance, years ago, who used to state with perfect sincerity that janitors deserved to make the same salaries as brain surgeons, or vice versa.
