The G20 summit is going on in Antalya, Turkey. In addition to formal meetings, President Obama and Russian leader Vladimir Putin had a private talk in the lobby of the hotel; no doubt they had important things to discuss. But this is Turkey, and we know how Turkey is with cats.
Kittens Bea and Arthur were fixed on the same day. They came home from the veterinarian’s clinic wearing their cones of shame. They were a bit bumfuzzled with their own cones and their sibling’s cone, too!
There was a disturbance at an art gallery that led to an investigation. Four intruders were apprehended. A Facebook post by the Newport (Oregon) Police Department takes the burglary report to the next level.
Four masked bandits burglarized Inscapes Gallery on SW Bay Blvd recently. Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity after midnight and cornered the suspects immediately upon entering the business. The suspects, known only by their street names of ‘Home Dog’, ‘Da Nails’, ‘Squeaky Feets’, and ‘2-Toes Todd’, attempted to elude officers on scene. After a brief scuffle, all suspects were captured without further incident or injuries.
‘Squeaky Feets’ told officers they had no intention of taking anything from the gallery; they were only trying to straighten a few pieces of art on the wall. Tell it to the judge, ‘Feets’. Tell it to the judge.
Smithsonian’s National Zoo is home to Bei Bei, a 3-month-old giant panda cub. In this footage, Bei Bei's doting mother looks on as the cub takes his first — albeit unsteady — steps.
In the part of the video that elicited an "aww!" from me, Bei Bei's mom, seemingly as a reward for the cub's brief adventures in independence, scoops him up like a human would with a baby and gives him a big (panda) bear hug.

Now this guy can make all of his important snack purchasing decisions with a little help from his feline advisor, and that lucky little kitty gets to spend his days strapped to bassburrito's chest. They make quite a pair!
In this video compilation, cats bravely face the devil's vegetable: cucumbers. They're green, crunchy and evil, and they've invaded feline space. What's to be done? These cats show us just how to handle such a volatile and dangerous situation. Via Tastefully Offensive
When her landlord wouldn't allow her to adopt a pitbull terrier, photographer Stacey Gammon channeled her desire for animal companionship by volunteering at an animal shelter. Realizing that her photography talent could be put to good use there, Gammon began shooting portraits of the animals in an effort to get them permanent homes.
Through her involvement with the shelter, Gammon became aware of the Mr. Mo Project, a New York nonprofit that rescues old shelter dogs in poor health who are on paths to being euthanized. The Mr. Mo project helps secure medical care for the ailing animals and tries to get them placed in caring, permanent homes. Gammon was so touched and impressed with the facility that she began shooting gratis animal portraits for them as well. She said,
"These dogs, as I witnessed during their photoshoots, are so full of life. They have love left to give."
Baby koala Imogen from Symbio Wildlife Park in Helensburgh, New South Wales, Australia has been featured at Neatorama once before, showing her cuddling up with a filmmaker who was attempting to video her.
Now ten months old and ready for her close up, this new footage is Imogen's first official photo shoot. This clip is even more adorable than the last. Keep up with Imogen's progress and that of other lovable animals at the Symbio Wildlife Park Facebook page.
The following is an article from The Annals of Improbable Research.
Dog tail-wagging research by Otto Didact, Improbable Research staff

Human Responses to Canine Tail-Chasing “A Vicious Cycle: A Cross-Sectional Study of Canine Tail-Chasing and Human Responses to It, Using a Free Video-Sharing Website,” Charlotte C. Burn, PLoS ONE, vol. 6, no. 11, 2011, e26553. The author, at the Royal Veterinary College, North Mymms, Hertfordshire, UK, reports:
Tail-chasing is widely celebrated as normal canine behaviour in cultural references. However, all previous scientific studies of tail-chasing or ‘spinning’ have comprised small clinical populations of dogs with neurological, compulsive or other pathological conditions; most were ultimately euthanased. Thus, there is great disparity between scientific and public information on tail-chasing. I gathered data on the first large (n = 400), nonclinical tail-chasing population, made possible through a vast, free, online video repository, YouTubeTM.... Approximately one third of tailchasing dogs showed clinical signs, including habitual (daily or ‘all the time’) or perseverative (difficult to distract) performance of the behaviour. These signs were observed across diverse breeds. Clinical signs appeared virtually unrecognised by the video owners and commenting viewers; laughter was recorded in 55% of videos, encouragement in 43%, and the commonest viewer descriptors were that the behaviour was ‘funny’ (46%) or ‘cute’ (42%).

The crab stands in front of a house that looks just like SpongeBob's. Perhaps he is Mr. Crabs. But instead of using his time to earn more money by selling Bikini Bottom's finest burgers, he's playing peek-a-boo with human non-customer.
Taking a selfie with a goat seems like no big deal nowadays, because people take selfies with celebs like Kimye and Iggy Azalea all the time, which is pretty much the same thing.
But one funny faced fellow took a selfie with a goat and captured the attention of the interwebs- with his eyebrows.
A young Redditor named chirv went for a run down the road when his neighbor's pet goat decided to tag along, but the goat wasn't trying to get fit- it was mesermized by chirv's fabulous tufts of over eye hair.
Redditors naturally went a bit Photoshop crazy with the lad's selfie, and after moving the brows around a bit and messing with the local goat population numbers the selfie 'shopping reached this inevitable conclusion:
This 2013 Japanese video is only now getting attention. Four-month-old female polar bear cub Milk is not yet able to swim, but that doesn't make her any less roly poly playful. Her exuberance is such that she slips into the pool of her enclosure. Milk's mother Karumi acts quickly, keeping Milk afloat but also seemingly helping the cub get used to the feeling of being in water. What an attentive, loving mom. Via Viral Viral Videos
The seal plays it cool. He knows that he's awesome. After all, not just anyone can surf on a whale. So he's chill in front of the humans, as though this is something that he does every day.
This video is from a whale watching expedition off the coast of Baja California. Strangely, there is not a whale surfing business anywhere in the world -- at least as far as I can tell. I would think that there would be a market for one.
These beautiful videos tell the story of Bigbird, a pelican who was injured and orphaned during a storm in Tanzania. When employees at a safari camp discovered the bird, he was bad off: unable to fly, not having learned to fish and ill equipped as to knowledge of basic survival skills.
As the narrator of one video explains, pelicans are part of a flock, with the younger birds following the lead of the older ones. Without that guidance and experience, they may not survive.
The combined footage shows Bigbird learning to fly (above video, featured previously at Neatorama by Miss Cellania) and fish (below, in a new video) as the obviously caring camp manager Jeff takes him on daily kayak excursions. The videos are not only touching, they showcase the dramatic beauty of the Tanzanian coastline. Via Slate
Winston the White Corgi shows off his Stormtrooper armor. I am sure the whole reasoning behind the selection of costume was Princess Leia’s line from the first Star Wars movie. Still, he’s adorable, as all corgis are.
