Can You Find the Dog Hidden on This Bed?

Imgur member i4got2pinthecrystals took this photo of her dog, who knows that she's not allowed on the bed. But "She thinks if she sits really still, i won't see her." And with good reason! The dog is a trained ninja who can disappear in front of your eyes.

But you don't have to worry. If she wanted you dead, you already would be.

Life With an 8 Foot Tall Dog

Many of us remember reading about Clifford the Big Red Dog when we were kids and longing for a monstrously huge dog friend of our own. But the problem with Clifford was that he was quite possibly too big -he couldn't even fit in your house.

But Juji, on the other hand, is just the right size. He's big enough to ride on -like a horse, but still small enough to fit on a couch (though just barely).

Juji was adopted by Christopher Cline and his girlfriend when Chris was going through a hard time. The pup brightened his spirits and soon enough, he started Photoshoping his regular-sized goldendoodle as a jumbo-sized pooch and the results are pretty much amazing.

You can keep up with Christopher and Juji's pictures over on Chris' Instagram.

Waiting for a Cat Birth Livestream

TinyKittens (previously at Neatorama), a cat rescue service, has teamed up with Langely Animal Protection Society in British Columbia to run a TNR (trap, neuter, return) program for feral cats. Unfortunately, life is not great for feral cats. Kittens born in the wild have abysmal survival rates, and kitten survivors that aren’t used to humans are difficult to rehome. So the project takes in pregnant feral cats and cares for them as best they can, in order to acclimate the kittens to humans and find homes for them as their mothers are spayed and released. Right now on their livestream, TinyKittens has Sable and Neelix, two pregnant feral cats who could give birth to their last litters of kittens anytime. If you miss the events, they will archive them in videos at the site. Read more about feral cats and the efforts to help them at Metafilter.

Cat Helps Dog Escape Pen

(Video Link)

The poor puppy was trapped in his pen, unable to escape. Her friend, Sriracha the cat, considered getting a map of the prison tattooed on her body, then committing a crime and getting sent to the same pen in order to break her out.

But then she realized that a simpler solution was to hold down the fabric frame so that the dog could escape. It worked! But it's still a felony.

Dog Takes the Tortoise Taxi

(Video Link)

When Sunshine the dog needs a lift, she calls Nicholas the tortoise. Nothing to Do with Aborath refers to Nicholas as the tortoise taxi. But he's really more of an Uber tortoise because he doesn't have a taxi medallion and is only available on-call through an app.

The Coyote Vest

A new type of armor is on the market to protect small dogs from coyotes, hawks, big dogs, and other predators. Paul and Pamela Mott developed the Coyote Vest after their dog Buffy was killed by a coyote.

He and his wife worked through a few designs that ended with the CoyoteVest. It has plastic spikes around the collar, spikes down the length of the torso and long plastic quills shooting up along the center from the neck to the rump.

Mott said it would deter any animal from biting into his dogs.

"I just want to save my dogs, and then I realized maybe this invention can save someone else's dog," he said.

There is also an accessory that can be activated by remote to deliver an electric shock. You have to wonder what canines think about the look. Read more about the Mott's business in this news story.  -via Arbroath

Dog Drives Truck into Tree

A truck driver left his semi idling near a Kwik Trip convenience store in Mankato, Minnesota, Friday afternoon and went inside to make a purchase. While he was in the store, his Labrador retriever knocked the truck into gear and it drove across the street, crashing into a tree and a parked car. Luckily, no one was hurt, including the dog. And passerby Marie Brace captured a priceless photograph.  -via reddit

Fluffy Bunny Eating Fruit = Terrifying!

Most bunnies are just plain cute, but the super fluffy Angora breed are among the cutest of all the bunnies, even though you can only see part of their face under all that fur.

This soft, fluffy and oh so cute look is in no way creepy...until they munch on some blood red fruit.

Big Dog vs. Little Dog

(YouTube link)

The robot Big Dog was the first robot from Boston Dynamics we featured on Neatorama years ago. The model has been improved since then. This one is the only Big Dog in civilian hands, and as he was put through his paces, a real dog noticed and did not like it a bit. The standoff lasted as long as it took until one of them backed down. -via Viral Viral Videos

Cat Survives 8-Mile-Ride While Stuck In The Grill Of A Car

Cats love to crawl into the engine compartments of parked cars, so when you know cats in your area are prone to crawling into the engine compartment conscientious people check under the hood before they drive off.

But some people don't think or bother to check, and terrible things happen to those poor dumb kitties stuck in the compartment when the engine starts running, unless they're extremely lucky.

A cat named Gnocchi from Santee, California proved he's one of the luckiest cats in the world by surviving an eight mile trip while hanging halfway out of the car's grill/bumper.

Good Samaritans stopped the driver who was completely oblivious to the poor cat trying to claw his way out of the grill, and lucky little Gnocchi was returned to his grateful owner.
