Baby Elephant Tries to Figure out How His Trunk Works

(Video Link)

The baby elephant at Kruger National Park in South Africa has discovered something important: he has a long dangly thing hanging on his face. It appears to be flexible, although he needs to practice controlling it. The dangly thing flops around in every direction except the one he wants. Perhaps he should consult the owner's manual.

Chloe Ate the Lipstick

This dog named Chloe is in trouble. But can you blame her? First off, she sees you putting that pink stuff to your mouth every day. Second, it smells good, like they usually do. Third, she’s a dog; they will eat anything. And we know what Chloe just ate.

I live in a home that has neither dogs nor lipstick. But my first thought was still about the difficulty of getting lipstick out of the carpet. -via Uproxx

Archer The Fox Has A Fantastic Laugh

Archer the fox not only has a cool name for a fox, he also has the coolest and most hilarious laugh I've ever heard come out of a fox's maw.

And every time his human starts cracking up Archer literally hits the floor laughing his bushy little tail off, either that or he's got something caught in his throat.

On second thought, maybe Archer is laughing at how messy his humans are, clean up that room people!

Dog Plays with Fish

(Video Link)

He's a natural hunter. But right now, our pup wants only to play with his scaly friends. He eagerly jumps in. The fish respond enthusiastically, but I'm not sure that they're interested in a game of tag.

Dog with "Hypnotic Eyes" Can't Find a Home

(Photo: Dogs Trust/Fox)

All glory to the Hypnodog!

Floyd is a Siberian Husky in the UK who needs a home. Stare into his Hypnotoad-like eyes and think about his future in your home. You want to adopt him, don't you?

Floyd has heterochromatic eyes that stare into your soul. The Coventry Telegraph reports that staff at Dogs Trust Kenilworth thinks this puts "people off." He has a cheerful, friendly disposition that is so captivating that you won't be able to break eye contact with him, no matter how much you want to. Nonetheless, he's up for adoption:

And Dogs Trust supporter relations officer Helen Barlow said: “Even with his striking good looks and bouncy personality Floyd is often passed by despite his efforts to catch the eye of potential owners.

“He needs a patient adult owner who will give him plenty of time to help him settle in to family life.

“This energetic boy is looking for an active adult home and would prefer to be king of the jungle as the only pet in home.”

Gentleman Horse Gets a Tailored, 3-Piece Suit

This is Morestead, a professional race horse. He's been called "the Naomi Campbell of the modeling world." And you can see why. He's the very definition of a classic English gentleman in this bespoke 3-piece tweed suit.

Morestead is participating in the Cheltenham Festival, a major British horse racing event. To celebrate the occasion, fashion designer Emma Sandham-King sewed him a suit using Harris Tweed, which is the finest handwoven tweed fabric from the Outer Hebrides. The BBC reports:

Ms Sandham-King and her team of seamstresses and tailors spent four weeks creating the suit using more than 18m (59ft) of tweed.

The suit, modelled by race horse Morestead and champion jockey Sir Tony McCoy, required 10 times as much fabric as an equivalent human suit.

The horse-sized garment was commissioned by bookmakers William Hill.

Ms Sandham-King said: "Creating the world's first tweed suit for a horse has been one of the biggest challenges that I have faced in my career as a designer.

"Some models can be real divas, but veteran racing horse Morestead was calm and a pleasure to work with."

Sleepy Pig Is My Spirit Animal

(Video Link)

This little piggy did not want to go to market. But we all have to go to work. Sorry, pig. That means you, too.

He won't budge, even though he's about to be late to his job at the sausage factory. Only a cookie held in front of his sensitive snout can rouse him.

Introducing Albert

Alwyn Wils (YouTuber Lelijke Eendje) bought a dozen quail eggs at the grocery store and incubated them. One of them hatched! And now he has a pet quail named Albert. Now, this is in Europe, where eggs are not necessarily pasteurized or refrigerated, but fertilized eggs in the grocery are still rare. We don’t know how many times he bought eggs to get this result.

Wils has further videos of Albert as a newborn, learning to fly, and taking a dustbath. -via reddit

99-Year-Old Woman Wakes Up To Find A Kinkajou Sleeping On Her Chest

Kinkajous are rarely seen outside the Central and South American rainforests they call home, so any animal lover who spots one outside of these regions should consider themselves lucky.

But what should you consider yourself when you wake up in your bed in Miami, Florida with a cute little kinkajou sleeping on your chest?

Chances are the 99-year-old lady from Miami who woke up to a cuddly kinkajou encounter didn't feel very lucky, she was too busy freaking out after realizing that animal curled up on her chest wasn't a cat.

The scared little critter ran off to the attic, but her son-in-law was able to lure him out with some treats and take him to a vet, where it was discovered that he was an escaped pet. I would have had a really hard time giving him up, he's so darn cute!

Fox Steals Golfer's Wallet

(Video Link)

We've seen foxes steal golf balls before. It's good sport, but foxes can't use golf balls to pay rent and gambling debts. So this fox at the County Louth Golf Club in Baltray, Ireland sneaked up to a golfer's bag, grabbed his wallet, and took off running.

The owner gave chase and the fox had to drop the wallet to escape. Of course, it would be a good idea to check the contents. A skilled pickpocket may pocket the cash while dropping the actual wallet in order to convince a victim to stop chasing him.
