This cat needed a quiet spot to take a nap. He chose the front door of a McDonalds’s during lunch hour.
Was it a bad choice? The cat doesn’t care. People can walk by or over him. They are no threat or use to him.

This older footage of a baby panda bear being introduced to his mother at Taipei, Taiwan zoo is likely making the rounds now due to its rare and precious nature. Mama and one-month-old baby, separated at birth for the safety of the cub, were reunited for a nursing and bonding session. -Via The Presurfer

A litter of four new clouded leopard cubs were born on May 12, at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. Their mother, Chai Li, has not been feeding them, so they are monitored and fed round-the-clock by the zoo staff. They don’t yet know how many males and females there are, but they had their portraits taken at one week. See the pictures at Facebook and a bonus video at YouTube.

Clouded leopards, which are not closely related to leopards, range from the Himalayas through Southeast Asia. They are the smallest of the big cats. There are around 10,000 left in the wild, and they are classified as vulnerable. -via Buzzfeed
This older video is just now getting attention for the sweet, gentle gesture of this fuzzy Asian elephant calf who curiously explores with his trunk the anatomy and scent of a human woman. -Via Tastefully Offensive
The problem with taking your squirrel for a drive is that he might want to drive. And he doesn’t even have a license! This little guy is named Phineas Bean. My husband had a squirrel when he drove a big rig, and said he never had a problem with the squirrel wanting to drive, because he was more interested in sitting on the driver’s shoulder so he could look out the window. -via Daily Picks and Flicks
And now, from my "I'm so glad that happened to someone else" file, a Los Angeles woman was cleaning out her closet when she found a plastic bag full of surprises, one of them big, saw-toothy and hissing. I have to commend her for her bravery. I would have called a SWAT team or something of the sort.
When I was a kid I noticed that cats and dogs don’t pay any attention to what’s on TV. But that was the old cathode-ray tubes. Flat screens are a completely different animal, as far as animals go. Now mum cats will sit and watch whatever we watch. They prefer nature shows, but haven’t yet learned to use the remote. Cats and computers can be hilarious, especially as a cat regards that flitting cursor to be the same as any insect on a wall. -via Tastefully Offensive

If there's one thing everyone on Instagram seems to love almost as much as pictures of food, it's pictures of precious pets. If you're just starting out on the site, you won't want to miss this great Oddee article highlighting 14 of the cutest cats, dogs and other critters on the site.

Granted, we've already featured a few of the animals on the list -like Lil Bub and Sam, but there's a whole lot of cuteness on this list that's still new to us.

Yo-yo master Luis Orlando Abrajan shows some tricks to a flock of ducklings. They hang on his every move, even when he starts to go really fast! He’s good, but his audience is adorable. Do this a little longer, and they’d be completely hypnotized! -via Daily Picks and Flicks
Meg Favreau predicts "CBS will buy the rights to this video and have a show called 'Bird Dentist' on air within six months." Bird Dentist sounds like the great premise for a failed pilot episode. David Boreanaz should play the parrot and Andy Dick should play his sassy dental hygienist who has pyrokinesis.
Aston Androshchuk, the boy in this video, should have at least a cameo in the pilot.

If you have spent any time with West Highland Terriers (Westies), you've likely seen the big personality that often powers those little dogs. In this footage, a 17-year-old Westie named Boy is being walked by his owner Beril through the streets of their town during a festival that includes a live band. According to Beril, the dog, who is deaf, pulled her closer to the music and began the doggie dance seen here. That's the look of sheer joyous abandon, is it not? -Via Arbroath

Slap that mouse! The allure of this feline version of the carnival game whack-a-mole is irresistible. A generous cat owner made this impressively detailed game that manually pops mice up holes. The resident cats jump at the chance to jump at mice. You can see built photos here, as well as instructions in Japanese (translation). It’s much better than the reversed version of the game: whack-a-kitty.

Here’s another feline lip dub masterpiece from Faireset (previously at Neatorama)! A cat named Amaron is trying to seduce a lovely lady cat by reciting Shakespeare’s prose from Romeo and Juliet en Francaise -as well as he can recall it. He does a pretty good job, too, until he starts to feel a nap coming on. -via Tastefully Offensive
