Stop Playing Games and Pet Me!

(YouTube link)

Alexander Fredriksen enjoys relaxing at home and watching TV or playing video games. But his cat Nala (previously at Neatorama) sees him lying on the couch as an opportunity for some snuggles. Lots of snuggles and scratches! Cats are creatures of habit, and Nala is not giving up until she gets what she wants. See more of Nala at Instagram. -via Daily Picks and Flicks

Cat Survives Two Months Trapped in Futon

Moosie the cat was always a survivor. He was rescued from a wall at three weeks of age after his mother died. Two years later, his family, Kymberly and Jesse Chelf, moved from El Paso, Texas, to Fairbanks, Alaska -and that’s when he went missing.

The family searched for their cat everywhere they could think, but came up empty time after time. They stayed in Texas for three days after the movers took their things. Several times each day they returned to the home and searched again.

At first they thought he may have jumped into one of the moving boxes, but all the boxes had been packed and sealed before he went missing. Only the furniture had been left unpacked for the loaders.

“We just assumed he had run away, which was very unlike Moosie,” Kymberly said. “He’s just a very loyal, loving cat.”

They put out the word to all their friends and neighbors. They activated his microchip in case anyone found him and reluctantly left.

The Chelfs’ furniture arrived in Fairbanks two months later, and when the movers had a futon halfway up the stairs, Moosie popped out of the mattress! Moosie was taken to Mount McKinley Animal Hospital, where veterinarians battled his dehydration and nursed him back to health. You can follow Moosie’s progress at his Facebook page. -via Arbroath

Daughter Buys Ridiculously Small Crop Top, Mom Gives It To Cat

Parents have drastically different reactions to their children’s choice of wardrobe, especially when  it comes to teens dressing sey, and their reactions generally range from stricter rules and grounding to letting their kids dress however they’d like.

But one parent made a bold move and showed that the purr-fect way to get your teen to dress more modestly is to show her that the sexy clothes she's wearing look better on the cat.

A concerned mom didn't like the look of the crocheted crop top her daughter bought on Amazon, so she decided to take action by putting that ridiculously small top on the cat and snapping some hilarious pics.

The crocheted crop top was advertised as "one size fits all", so mom decided to help girls avoid embarrassing themselves by posting a review of the garment on Amazon, so young buyers will know what they're getting (squeezing?) into.

Put Down The Camera And Help That Cat!

Cats generally act indifferent towards their humans, in part because they can quite easily transition from pet to wild animal.

When cats become part of the human world and learn to rely on hairless apes to feed them and clean their litter box they can start to lose their wild edge.

But when they get into trouble and need assistance they look to their humans for a helping hand, but their humans are usually too busy taking pictures of the embarrassing moment to help.

So when your kitty pals find themselves in a pickle be quick and discreet with your picture taking and help your furry little friend out!

Why My Cat is Sad

Author Tom Cox has five cats and writes about them. He is also the genius behind the Twitter account WHY MY CAT IS SAD. It chronicles the misadventures of his cat The Bear, who is sad for a lot of reasons.

The Bear adopts a pacifist lifestyle and prefers to spend the day following me around, staring at me with his big saucer eyes, which seem to contain all the world's sadness. I did once catch him sitting alone with a dead mouse but I think another cat had killed it, and he just wanted to read some elegiac poetry to it.

Cox also has an account called WHY MY CAT IS SMUG. This account is for Ralph, the cat who is smug most of the time, which is part of the reason The Bear is so sad. And then there’s Shipley, whose Twitter account is MY SWEARY CAT. Shipley is brash and vocal, and his Tweets are often NSFW. There are also two cats who don’t use Twitter. Read about all of them at their blog.

Dragon Cat

Summer is coming, and in many hot places, cat owners often shave their felines to keep them cool, reduce shedding and hairballs. And if you're a Game of Thrones fan, you can humiliate, er, turn your cat into a dragon with this Dragon Cut trim by The Main Lion cat grooming salon of Paoli, Pennsylvania.

But if you choose to go this route, be wary as the night is dark and full of terror. A cat always pays its debt.

Photographer Captures Adorable Images Of A Squirrel On A Rainy Day

The rain can dampen anyone’s day, but when you’re a little squirrel without a tree nearby to provide cover you can end up all wet. That’s why squirrels don’t like to come out when it’s raining, they prefer to keep their spirits like their tails- high and dry.

So what’s a squirrel loving photographer to do when he has a tiny umbrella and a brilliant idea for an adorable photo series?

If you’re legendary photographer and squirrel fan Max Ellis you coat the tiny umbrella in peanut butter and sunflower seeds then hang it on a fishing line on a rainy day.

Max has proven he can get a squirrel to pose for a series of great pics even on a rainy day, now where can I find a tiny umbrella?

Yoga with Cats

Image: Homeward Bound Pet Shelter/Facebook

Maybe instead of downward dog, that should be called downward cat!

We know that cats are very limber creatures so perhaps it's natural that they'd belong in a yoga studio.

Last week, no-kill animal shelter Homeward Bound partnered with Yoga at Connie's of Decatur, Illinois to raise awareness for the cat adoption month of June, and perhaps even find new homes for some of the shelter's cats.

"Now, no screaming if a cat jumps on you," said studio owner Connie Pease, who led the human-cat yoga class last week. "The ones that were really active really made the class a lot of fun. They jumped on the students and kissed them. One had their butt in my face, but we had so much fun with them."

The whole thing got started when a 12-year-old cat named Oreo jumped on shelter volunteer Jeanette Skaluba's shoulder when she was doing yoga. "Cats rule the internet," Skaluba told Herald & Review, so why not see if they can also bring some fun into a yoga class, raise some funds and perhaps find some of them a new home.

"A lot of people find shelters depressing, Skaluba told The Dodo, "By taking the cats to something like a yoga class, people have the opportunity to see and interact with them outside the shelter. It gives these cats exposure and shows their personality. I think people can envision these pets in their home easier because they're outside the shelter."

Saving a stray dog from certain death can make you feel like a million bucks, but it can also cost you a bunch of money as you pay to repair all the things your rescued dog destroys.

Sometimes the dog you save winds up becoming a brilliant new addition to your furry family, but most of the time they’re trouble, which is how they ended up on the streets in the first place.

A kindhearted pet lover saved two dogs from death on the highway in Atlanta, Georgia then posted this ad on Craigslist aimed at their deadbeat owner:
