Chocolate-covered Potato Chips

A flavor combination you never craved before will soon be a reality. Coming any day to a Target store near you: Lay's Wavy Potato Chips Dipped in Milk Chocolate. I am not making this up. The salty-sweet snack is a limited edition holiday offering, scheduled only through the new year, but if it were to sell well, Lay's would consider adding it to their regular lineup. The company cites the rising popularity of salty-sweet snacks as its inspiration, such as pretzels dipped in chocolate. The combination of sweet and salty is understandable -after all, that's the magic behind Reece's Cups. But in this case, the combination is not just sugar and salt. It's chocolate and potato! -via Uproxx

Better Made has been doing this for years! And they come in tins so they don't crush. With choice of milk or dark chocolate. It's amazeballs. I'll have to try these to compare.

These have been increasingly popular for a couple years in other specialty brands and stores (Trader Joe's I think has them out front quite a bit now). I think it's more of a case of Lays jumping on the bandwagon. :)

Long ago in a galaxy far away, before we even had microwave ovens to do our melting for us, we heated chocolate chips in a double boiler, stirred in crushed potato chips, then spread the gorp out on cookie sheets to cool. These were quite popular, and I predict Lay's new version will be, too.

I personally believe my design is better, since it's so inconspicuous. You'd open up a pre-sliced roll, and out of nowhere there he is. It could be one of those annoying gag gifts, lol. Why did he laser-etch it though? Kinda lame, haha. I'd just modify a toaster or make a metal stamp that could be heated and pressed on the roll do the same thing. I hate to get so into this, but I had this marketing scheme earlier today and decided to make a design, see if it would get any nostalgia hits. Gotta make money somehow, lol. Anywho, here's mine:
