The Father of the Chicken Nugget

McDonalds usually gets the credit -or the blame- for inventing chicken nuggets. The company introduced the McNugget in 1980. But Cornell University professor Robert C. Baker had made the same thing in 1963!

It’s a mixed legacy for a man who wanted only to increase the market power of upstate New York’s poultry farmers—men whose families have since left the business, because the changes wrought by nuggets made it unprofitable. “I think you have to understand him as a person of his time,” Baker’s oldest son Dale, now 66, told me. “He grew up in the Depression, not having enough food to eat. When he’d buy a dinner, he would want to get the most calories for the price. He wanted to be sure the farmers would get the best prices for their birds.”

Read the story of how Baker came up with the nugget, and never got the credit for the idea that transformed the poultry industry and the American diet. Link -via Digg

These things happen only if you eat A LOT of fat. The pill keeps about 30% of fat from digesting, so the 'orange river' probably came from an ocean of fat.

Of course you can always cheat and stay clean by eating lots of pasta, bread and salty snacks...

The pill was introduced in Europe a long time ago and it's called Xenical.

That is why there are warnings in all the materials that clearly state this is a side effect. The packaging tells folks to in fact where dark clothes --just in case. If any fatty is complain they should worry about their reading skills AND that lard ass

ps- is that a typo--does her brother build fences or feces?

I hadn't heard of it and read the paperwork from the package inside of Costco the other day. One thing it noted was that the people who were in the control groups were given adult diapers. I stopped reading at that point. I knew how you could lose that "50% more". Nope. No. Un unh. No way. Eat less, exercise more...that is the only thing that works.

Someone on Yahoo!Answers posted saying they had tried and experienced these results and concluded by saying they were going to sue the makers of Alli for it. What is it with our culture wanting instant gratification without doing any work to earn it?

Those people with the disgusting stories above are expecting Alli to be the magic diet pill. They are STILL taking in way too much fat.

I have been taking it for a month now and have learned that if I consume a high fat meal, I will suffer the consequences. Alli has helped me. 8 pounds in 3 weeks is a major accomplishment. And just the thought of having a horrifying episode like one described in the article has taught me to prepare and enjoy a lower fat diet.
