Buckle Up Batman, Here Come The Gotham Bunnies!

(Images Via Greg de Stefano/Imgur)

The cosplay community is full of imaginative, creative, and talented folks who put their heart and soul into costuming, using their wide variety of skills to create spot on versions of their favorite characters.

Cosplayers live to play roles, and create new characters for their geeky fans to adore, and one of the newest and most fun original incarnations are the Bunnies, based on the Playboy Bunnies of the past.

We've seen the Avengers and Doctor Who themed Bunnies, but these Gotham Bunnies (based on the artwork of Oskar Vega) take the concept to a whole new level of awesome!

Behind The Scenes Photos From David Lynch's DUNE

David Lynch's film adaptation of the Frank Herbert sci-fi novel Dune is one of those movies people either love or hate, there seems to be no middle "meh" ground when it comes to this particular big screen adaptation.

Even Lynch's feelings are torn over this unique flick, claiming it was made around the time he "started selling out", but those who enjoy watching his dark vision of Dune dream of someday owning a sandworm of their own, and maybe one of those sweet black stillsuits...

Here's a collection of behind-the-scenes photos that really show all the hard work, massive sets and amazing fabricated props that went into this epic production, plus you get to see a young David Lynch!

Pac-Man Lights Up The Night

The waka-waka-waka chronicles of Pac-Man and the multi-colored ghosts with the cute names have been brought to life in many ways, but Michael Bosanko has officially shed new light on the concept of fan art.

His amazing light art photographs really bring the Pac pursuit to life, and somehow the ghosts look spookier when they’re nothing but whispy tendrils of light.

Oh Pac-Man, even after all these years people are still finding fun ways to pay homage to your hungry pie head!

The Eleventh (Holographic) Doctor

I had never considered it before Daniel Feit tweeted this photo, but now it's obvious: Robert Picardo, who played the Doctor on Star Trek: Voyager, would do an excellent job of playing the Doctor on Doctor Who. He has no name and already has the job title!

And who should be his companion? Jeri Ryan, who played Seven of Nine.

H. Jon Benjamin As The New Voice Of HAL From 2001

(Video Link)

He’s the voice of many cartoons both crappy and cool, he has a van, and once you’ve heard the name H. Jon Benjamin you never forget it. His voice is so iconic, so sultry, that when he does voiceover for things other than toons he brings a unique je ne sais quoi to the project.

Here’s an example of the kind of vocal magic Mr. Benjamin brings to a project- a clip from 2001 featuring H. Jon as the voice of that psycho computer AI HAL, recorded when Jon paid a visit to Late Night Basement.

2001 disc selling people- give HJB a call when you decide to re-re-re-release 2001: A Space Odyssey and you’re looking for a HAL update, cause he nailed it!

How Are Samurai Films Responsible For Star Wars?

(Video Link)

So much information has come out over the years about the making of the original Star Wars trilogy, the work that went in to creating the SW universe, and the origin of many of the iconic elements contained within, that we often assume we know all there is to know about these seminal flicks.

This very informative video from Cinefix reveals how samurai movies led the way for cowboy flicks and influenced much of the Star Wars universe, and taught me a thing or two in about seven minutes by answering these pressing questions:

How are Samurai films and a car crash responsible for Star Wars? How did World War II affect the global film industry in the 20th century? Why are Jedi called Jedi?? Give us 8 minutes, and we'll explain it all...

Life-Size R2-D2 Cake Is The Droid You're Looking For

And it's certainly an improvement over that other R2 unit which had a bad motivator and too much fondant. This cake by Cakes Cove has vital calories for the survival of the Rebellion. Also chocolate.

Cakes Cove makes custom cakes priced at $2.50 a serving, which means that this one probably cost about $8. I'd like to order a life-size rancor cake, please.

Damn Fine Shower Curtain

It's hard to think of a more terrific and horrible idea for a shower curtain than a Twin Peaks one showing Laura Palmer after her body was unwrapped in a shower curtain. Of course, fans of the cult favorite are sure to love the design, but just in case you don't want anything quite that creepy to those who aren't viewers of the show, the minimalistic version of the Red Room is certain to horrify only those who love David Lynch's eerily strange TV show.

There are even more great Twin Peaks shower curtains available on Society6, check out more of the designs over at Homes and Hues: Forget the Coffee, These Are Damn Fine Shower Curtains

Pages From A Rare Chinese Comic Book Version Of Star Wars

A long, long time ago in a country far, far away there was a rumor about a science fiction movie that came out in America which rocked everybody’s world, a movie that contained cool words like Darth, Jedi and Skywalker.

This movie, of course, was Star Wars, and the Chinese were strictly forbidden from seeing this American film, but that didn’t stop some Chinese artists from dreaming about that forbidden space opera, and bringing their thoughts to life in a comic book.

An assistant history professor named Maggie Greene discovered this incredibly rare Chinese comic book version of Star Wars, entitled Xing Qiu Da Zhan, at a Shanghai book fair in 2011, and now she has shared some of the wonderfully illustrated pages from the book with her fellow Star Wars geeks via the interwebs.

Darth riding an alien triceratops? Obi-Wan with a J&B sign on his wall? C-3PO jumping into the fray? The force is strong with this comic!

If Grand Theft Auto V Were Made In The 80s

(Video Link)

Even though one of the Grand Theft Auto games (Vice City) is set in the 80s, the franchise itself was nothing more than a glimmer in the eye of a game designer when disco pac-man was busy playing with rubik’s cube while he tried to escape the wrath of Donkey Kong and the A-Team, but if GTA V had come out in the 80s it probably would have looked a lot like this animated short by MajamiHiroz.

This pixelated re-imagining of GTA V reveals what the popular criminal simulation game would have looked like if it had been released for the Commodore 64, and the rockin' 8-bit soundtrack really adds to the experience!

Amazing One-Man Band Plays Star Wars Music

(Video Link

Jabba the Hutt could have saved a lot of money by turning down Figrin D’an and the Modal Tones and instead employing a single musician: Anders Flanderz. This whimsical street musician from Sweden plays a vast assortment of instruments, including an accordion, cymbals, a xylophone, and what appears to be a mailbox. You can watch more of his videos here.

X-Mans - Art Inspired By A Horrible X-Men Coloring Book

Spider-Man, Superman, Batman and many more have found themselves depowered and disgraced by the terrible merchandise that comes out with their name plastered all over it, and in the 90s when the X-Men cartoons were taking the after school world by storm there were all kinds of bunk X-Men based products being released.

One particular bad product, a horrible X-Men coloring book full of terrible quality drawings and mutants placed in strange situations that seem to have very little to do with superheroing, has inspired a series of artworks based on what the artists found between the covers of that cheesy coloring book.

X-Mans finds Brandon Bird, and some of his more artistic friends, drawing interpretation from this travesty of a coloring book, and their artistic interpretations are simply priceless!

There's No Business Quite Like The Ethel Merman Disco Album

(Video Link)

(Video Link)

She had a voice that either made people grin or cringe, a hugely successful name and was called "The First Lady of the musical comedy stage", but Ethel Merman went from being a beloved and appreciated star of stage and screen to a punchline, and it’s sad to say that one particular album played a major role in her fall from grace.

The project which changed the way people thought about Ethel Merman as an entertainer is the uniquely horrible and utterly ridiculous album called The Ethel Merman Disco Album, and it’s every bit as bad as it sounds.

Listen, if you dare, to a 71-year-old belter of standards and Broadway tunes singing over a cheesy disco track, and try not to tap your foot along to the beat!

X-Men PSAs

Julia Lepetit and Andrew Bridgman of Dorkly created a series of public service posters that work in the world where mutants have super powers and become X-Men. Some are funny even if you don’t know a thing about X-Men, while others require a fan’s knowledge to fully appreciate. There are eight of these posters at Dorkly.

There was once a little WWII game called Castle Wolfenstein, which made its first appearance on the Apple II as a stealth game, but is best known for its later first-person shooter incarnation put out by the makers of Doom, id Software.

You may have played through the original incarnations, kept up with the latest versions and now eagerly await the release of Wolfenstein: The New Order, but as this fact filled list from Gamma Squad shows there is a lot you don’t know about Wolfenstein.
