What If Deadpool And Harley Quinn Had Children

Harley Quinn and Deadpool come from different universes, have different methods to their madness, and work for different sides of the law…sort of.

Okay, so depending on what’s happening in the storyline they’re pretty much the same kinda crazy, and they have similar color schemes to their costumes, so maybe they would make a perfect couple?

Illustrator Marco D'Alfonso has brought this bizarre coupling to life with an extremely appropriate Married With Children inspired artwork that should immediately become the basis for a new web series starring the two loving loons.

Can't you just hear Harley now, as shey yells "Waaaade! Waaaaaade!" in a screechy Peggy Bundy style voice? And Deadpool mutters something about how his amazing healing factor just won't let him die...it's comic book comedy gold!

R2-Dump2

You know this little dumpster is going to cause you a lot of trouble. But at least he doesn't have a bad motivator.

Crummy Gummy, a street artist in Orlando, Florida, painted this dumpster to look like R2-D2, the most foul-mouthed character in cinematic history. He made it for the Mills 50 district, a trendy neighorhood in Orlando.

The artist was born with the name Mauricio Murillo. He goes by the name Crummy Gummy because although he does street art, his early notable work was with gummy bears.

"10 Dark and Gritty Rules of Dystopian Science Fiction"

grits

image via i09

The future looks bleak. At least according to futurists, economists, and science fiction authors (as well as pretty much anyone else). Seems we are getting closer and closer to Mad Max than we may actually think. Though a great many of us love playing through war torn and battered future landscapes in video games, and reading or watching them on TV, did you know those dystopian science fiction worlds have rules? Writer Annalee Newitz over at i09 has put together a very solid list that shows some of the basic rules that all fiction set in a dystopian world must follow. In talking about class systems she makes some brilliant points:

It's not enough to call the groups "haves" and "have-nots." They each need peculiar, evocative names like The Aspiring and The Disdained. Or they should only be known by the place they come from, like Quadrant 6 or The Outer Rim.

The piece is wonderfully written, and shows us that even lawless, brutal, dystopian societies that are crumbling have unspoken rules to follow. By the way, did I mention how bad the traffic was today in Quadrant 6 on my way to work? Man, we need to do something with The Disdained. Their highways are a mess.

Add "Bionic Pants" To Your Must-Have List

bio

Image via Noonee

Bionic pants are one of those things you thought you would never want because perhaps, like us, you thought they would never exist. You hear the term and you are not even sure what they would do, anyway. Could you super jump like Mario in bionic pants? Could you kick like Chuck Norris in your bionic pants? Well, they exist now, and the answer to the preceding questions is no. So you must be wondering what they do, right? The above photo explains it all. They defy physic by letting you sit anywhere without a chair.

We just can't understand why they didn't name them "chair pants" or something. Bionic pants make them sound way cooler and way more capable than they actually are. Truth is, if they were called chair pants we probably wouldn't be talking about them right now. Also, one more side note to developers. Can you make them look cooler than leg straps? Once you make a leather pair of chair pants, we will probably be all about it. Now that sounds sleek and futuristic.

Delightful Photoshopped Images Created By Chinese Internet Trolls

The first internet connection in China was established in 1987, and now they have the most internet users in the world, but they’ve been a bit slow to catch up with the rest of the world in terms of internet trends.

Memes, silly animal videos, and nerd rage are all relatively new to Chinese users, but there is one area where they’re quickly catching up- trolling.

A uniquely Chinese form of trolling is taking place, based around hilarious photoshopped images, and it’s the most adorable form of trolling ever.

These trolls aren’t particularly vicious, nor are they preying on unwitting members of the online community, these trolls are being fed by people who want to see what the trolls will do with the images they receive:

It's the kindest, gentlest form of trolling you can find on the internet, and the idea of turning an image like this:

Into something as innocently 'shopped as this will make you want to go "d'awww!":

Usagi Yojimbo Stop Motion Short That May Lead To A Feature Film

The ronin rabbit Usagi Yojimbo was created by Stan Sakai in 1984, at the height of the anthropomorphic comic book character craze, but Usagi has always been a bit different than the other critter comic stars.

His tales were less about life as a rabbit and more about the life of a ronin, because in Usagi’s alternate version of Japan's Edo period every character is an animal, so he doesn't have to wear a disguise or deal with mutant problems like his friends the Ninja Turtles.

(Image Via tmntentity)

Usagi was a fan favorite from day one, and his action packed comics are just as fun to read today as they were when they first came out, so why hasn’t Usagi Yojimbo been adapted for the big screen?

(Video Link)

A film adaptation is finally being discussed, and as this proof-of-concept short film released by Lintika Films reveals it might actually live up to the geeky dreams of Usagi Yojimbo's fans.

Lintika seems to be staying faithful to the source material, but they still have to overcome a budgetary hurdle before the film can actually begin production.

Some Of The Most Pointless Action Figures Ever Made

When toy companies keep pumping out product you end up with a bunch of figures that never should have seen the light of day, figures that are lacking one key word- action.

The Doctor Who craze ushered in by the series reboot resulted in a bunch of bad action figure releases, but no figure in the collection was more pointless than Destroyed Cassandra, the frame from which an animated flap of skin once hung:

The Waltons wasn’t a very exciting show, but even they got their own toy line, and for the sake of completion they released every member of the family- including Grandma and Grandpa Walton, the least action packed figures ever.

On the other hand, Starsky and Hutch was an action packed show worthy of having an action figure line, but releasing a figure for a drunken bearded man who never appeared on the show is the epitome of pointless:

And, last but certainly not least in terms of pointlessness, what action figure collection is complete without a side of beef? That's right- it's the iconic 1/2 cow Sylvester Stallone socked up real good in the movie Rocky.

Check out the rest of the figures that made io9's list of13 More of the Most Pointless Action Figures Ever Made, and see what your toy collection has been missing all along!

The Future Of Digital Facial Enhancement

The future of facial enhancement in film will be digital, and fairly creepy…at least according to this video by Nobumichi Asai, which demonstrates the latest in digital makeup technology called Omote.

(Video Link)

Omote combines face tracking technology, motion capture concentrated on facial points rather than the whole body, with a digital image projection that changes and moves along with the face in real time.

It's fascinating to watch the facial projection change along with the soundtrack, and the video really shows the potential applications for this kind of digital facial enhancement in film, but how will this new technology affect those famous Hollywood faces? Only time will tell...

Microsoft Recreates Their 1994 Website

Image Via Microsoft

Do you remember the web from 20 years ago? With its five colors and thin, ugly fonts? Every website seemed to have a space theme, and you could tell people were clearly working on a canvas they were not yet familiar. Though the web has undeniably come far, sometimes it is cool to flashback willingly and see just how cheesy and simplified it was.

In case any of you have forgotten, Microsoft have recently re-released their websites in 1994 format, which you can check out right here. It is exactly as ugly and odd and cumbersome as you would think. Yet, it also stands as a time capsule to how far we have come aesthetically and otherwise in these last two decades.

So check it out. They tell you how they built the site and there are some other cool little odds and ends once you get to clicking. Mainly, though, you will be laughing that we once thought this all looked incredibly cool.

The behind-the-scenes video is pretty cool, too! -via Geeks Are Sexy

Sid And Nancy - The Sitcom

Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen lived fast, died young and made quite an impression during Sid’s few years of fame, but their love never really rang true, and never really seemed worthy of dramatization.

John Simon Ritchie made himself into Sid after all, and Nancy made herself famous by hooking up with Sid, so it was far from a fairytale romance.

But if you believe in the existence of parallel universes then it's possible Sid and Nancy’s relationship could have easily played out like a romantic comedy in an another dimension.

(Video Link)

Video mashup raconteur Robert Jones paid a visit to this rom-com dimension, and he brought back this intro clip from the other side's most famous sitcom Sid & Nancy, with a theme song that sounds mighty familiar...

Guy Does Six Part Super Mario Theme Acapella With Himself

It takes a certain amount of confidence to be a solo musician, but what if you are a whole band and still solo? That, we would think, takes even more confidence. Or does it take less because you have a whole bunch of "you's" backing you up? Well, YouTube user csvy attempts to answer that with his awesome, solo, acapella rendition of the Super Mario Brothers theme. Please note, he also looks a lot like the chef from the animated movie Ratatouille. See for yourself and admire his vocal stylings.

I would say that is worthy of an extra guy.

Everything You'll Ever Need To Know About Deadpool

The Merc with a Mouth has gone from obscure secondary character, and admitted Deathstroke ripoff, to one mighty popular fellow, and he didn't get that way simply because readers identify with his chimichanga fetish

He's edgy, he's hilarious, and he's definitely a bit of a kook, but where does a budding Deadpool fanatic start to explore this character's history, powers, and crucial comic book appearances?

Well, this article entitled Everything You Need To Know About Deadpool created by GeekTyrant's Mick Joest is a great place to start, so you can finally find out what all the hullabaloo is about!

Incredible Stop Motion Animation Short Created Using Styrofoam

Stop motion animators employ many different techniques, materials and styles to create the props, backgrounds and characters for their unique three dimensional films.

Some people make latex or silicone puppets for their films, others use paper, found objects, or wet clay to create their piece, but animator and director Mikey Please of Parabella Animation Studio used a rarely utilized material to create his latest short- Styrofoam.

(Video Link)

Mikey combines neatly sculpted Styrofoam models by the hundreds and long-exposure lighting to tell the story of Marilyn Myller- a girl who is both creator and destroyer.

It took Mikey and his partner Dan Ojari over a year to create this mesmerizing short, but it will only take you six minutes to take this animated trip through the mind of a young artist.
