Leonard Nimoy's passing has been especially hard to handle, because it not only means a talented musician, artist, writer, photographer and actor is gone, but also that he'll never be in one of my favorite shows or movies ever again.
From Star Trek to the strange mysteries found on In Search Of..., voice over work in Transformers: the Movie and more recently starring as William Bell in the mind blowing sci-fi series Fringe, Nimoy was everywhere I wanted to be.
Here's a collection of fan art created as a tribute to the legendary icon Leonard Nimoy, some created before his passing but most after. May his legacy serve as influence and inspiration ad infinitum.

The cast of characters who lurk around Paddy’s Pub are some seriously shady human beings, and not so long ago people with tattoos were seen as shady and untrustworthy by "polite" society.
So it only makes sense that fans of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia would want to commemorate their favorite shady characters Charlie, Mac, Dennis, Dee and Frank with colorful tattoos!
The gang from Sunny recently paid Conan O'Brien's show a visit, where they took a look at some interesting fan tattoos inspired by the show before showing off their own regrettable ink stains tattoos. Tattoos based on TV shows never go out of style...until about five to ten years after the show is canceled!
Be careful what you wish for, because with great power comes great responsibility. These familiar adages go double for this video from College Humor. You may feel nostalgic for the ‘90s if it was your childhood (otherwise, I just don’t see it), but going back is not the funfest it might seem. Now, if time travel were possible, this scenario puts an entirely different spin on events that we still don’t understand. What if the most senseless events from history were an attempt to stop something even worse? This video contains NSFW language. -via Viral Viral Videos
Richard Pryor seems like an unlikely candidate to head a kid’s TV show, but back in the mid-80s Pryor actually made a brief appearance on CBS’s epic Saturday Morning lineup.
Pryor's Place was created by Sid and Marty Krofft and ran for thirteen episodes back in 1984, at a time when Pryor was busy becoming more kid friendly with lead roles in Superman III and The Toy.
Pryor’s Place featured puppets, singing, dancing and comedy sketches, with appearances by classic Pryor characters like the wise wino Mudbone, toned down for younger viewers.
It's not as entertaining as The Richard Pryor Show, but fans of classic children's TV and all things 80s will definitely get a kick out of this vintage oddity.
It takes a special kind of lady to want a Stargate, Star Wars, World of Warcraft or Doctor Who engagement or wedding ring, but when you find that girl, you'd better hurry up and put a ring on it. As for where to get a ring featuring such symbolism, that's easy -just head over to Paul Michael's Etsy shop where you can buy all kinds of great geek jewelry or even commission the skilled jewelry artist to make you a special geek design for your sweetie.
We've featured plenty of Paul's designs before, but with so many great designs available from the artist, I thought it might just be time to revisit some of his work.
Fans of superhero comics know that a suspension of disbelief is required for an enjoyable read, and if you can’t suspend your disbelief then you probably shouldn't be reading comics in the first place.
However, there are some superheroes out there who make suspension of disbelief mighty hard to manage, because their super powers are utterly ridiculous!
Dorkly drawer JHALL is calling out our favorite super folks for having ridiculously overblown super powers, saying what we've been thinking all along- that's a mighty convenient power you have there!
It was over a year ago when Alex introduced us to 20 amazing pieces of Star Wars furniture over on Homes and Hues. It remains the most popular article of all time on the site. We thought it was time to revisit the topic and have rounded up 13 more fun Star Wars goodies you can add to your home.

If you’re as sick of Frozen mania as I am then the prospect of an alien critter running amok in Elsa’s frozen wastes probably sounds like a good thing.
However, if you’re still stuck on Frozen then you should avert your eyes from the screen as this claymation short by Lee Hardcastle will most likely destroy your inner child.
Lee’s claymation short FROZEN- Blood Test Scene is a plasticine bloodbath that will (arguably) warp your kids a lot less than the soundtrack of Frozen, and hopefully it'll help the addicted finally Let It Go! (Contains language and clay figure violence that is NSFW)
Nichelle Nichols is the actress who played Lt. Nyota Uhura on the original Star Trek. Prior to running the communications systems on the Enterprise, she attended the Chicago Ballet Academy. She sometimes found work as a dancer, including as a background performer in the 1959 film version of Porgy and Bess.
Nichols kept up with her dancing skills. The Geek Twins has a collection of behind-the-scenes photos of uncertain provenance showing Nichols in costume on the bridge set demonstrating how flexible she is.
The latest batch of fad products roll out every year around Christmas, when people spend way too much money and act like animals just to get their hands on the must-have product of the year.
A lot of really bad fad toys have been released in the last forty years, but the fad toys on this list epitomize the love it now, couldn't care less tomorrow core of what makes most fad toys a total waste of money!
1. Pogo Bal-
The pogo stick was rendered obselete by the release of the Pogo Bal in 1986, which didn't mean much because kids had given up their pogo sticks in favor of skateboards and scooters long ago.
The good thing about Pogo Bal was every kid on your block had one, so you could all look ridiculous trying to bounce around together.
The bad thing about Pogo Bal- it rapidly deflated and cracked when left out in the sun, and only really worked as advertised when fully inflated, so most kids let it become part of the backyard.
Cabbage Patch Kids sprouted out of the ground all cute, clothed and ready for adoption, and kids have never wanted to eat their vegetables more than when they saw those dimple cheeked Kids on toy store shelves.
The Cabbage Patch Riots of 1983 showed how far some parents were willing to go to get their hands on those dolls, which at the time were being mass produced rather cheaply by Coleco.
The good thing about Cabbage Patch Kids is their dollyness- they have plenty of outfits and accessories to keep kids (mostly girls) entertained for years to come.
The bad thing about Cabbage Patch Kids is the cloth material used to make the body got dirty fast, and if you tried to wash them they turned into lumpy Cabbage Patch freaks. Likewise their decal eyes rubbed off if the dolls were played with too roughly, which left them looking so sad:
Millénium Condor? That totally would have worked, even in English. And Chewie is a Chico for sure. But Jabba the Woodsman? Maybe the French version has a different backstory for him.
Cartoonist James Chapman publishes many cartoons showing how different words and expressions are conveyed in languages other than English, including the sound of frying bacon and how to answer the phone. In a recent production, he took us back to il ya longtemps dans une galaxie lointaine, très lointaine.
Finnish artist Jarno Kotavuopio makes custom Nintendo consoles. He's made 2 in the form of toasters, including this beauty that features polished chrome fixtures, internal lights, and glowing buttons. As you can see in this video, it's completely functional.
With cartridge covers that look like actual toast, he'll have to be careful that no one tries to cook breakfast with one of his consoles!
Being a flesh and blood human being can be hard, especially when you really don’t feel like talking to people, looking at people or being a sociable part of human society.
If you've ever found yourself feeling less like a human and more like a hand puppet then you’ll definitely relate to this delightful music video by Kate Micucci and Tony Thaxton entitled “Puppets Understand”.
However, if you’re one of those lucky folks who feel comfortable in their own skin, love being around people and find puppets lame/dorky/creepy then you should go back to your actual conversations and positive human interactions while the rest of us sulk...
DeviantART member Malicious Cosplay merged the worlds of Star Wars and Street Fighter with these two costumes. The bounty hunter Boba Fett is also the British brawler Cammy. Chun-Li wears her own colors mixed up with Princess Leia's iconic slave outfit from Return of the Jedi.
UPDATE 2/26/15: Rebecca Denfip, the model playing Cammy-Fett, stops by to identify herself. Thanks, Rebecca!
