When Peanuts Travels to Westeros, We All Win

Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Woodstock and the rest of the Peanuts gang might be have some humorous adventures in their ordinary suburban life, but in Westeros, no one is safe from death. Artist Philip Horoton has made a few great cartoons showing what happens when the Peanuts travel to the world of George R.R. Martin.

While Philip has quite a few great comic mashups, these are so far the only two combining Peanuts and Game of Thrones, but I really hope he makes more because these are so promising already.

What if Man of Steel was IN COLOR?

(YouTube link)

The 2013 Superman movie Man of Steel was in color, alright, but it was muted and dark, trying to emulate the look of The Dark Knight. But what works for Batman doesn’t necessarily work for Superman. VideoLab adjusted the colors to look more like the real world, which makes a real difference, don’t you think? At least its much easier for someone with less-than-optimal eyesight to follow.  -via b3ta

Hilarious Outtakes from Some of the Best Sci Fi Shows

(Video Link)

Sci fi shows occassionally have levity, but they need to have believable drama or else they don't work. While that makes for great film and television, it doesn't give fans the best insight on how their favorite actors are on set. This awesome collection of sci fi bloopers featured on io9 shows what happens between the successful takes and reminds us that no matter how serious Worf, Scully, Starbuck and Agent Dunham appear on screen, the actors portraying them are still real, silly people.

Confessions Of A Hollywood Movie Extra

Hollywood movie magic seems way more magical when you don't know all the behind-the-scenes secrets, but with all the DVD extras and leaked footage floating around that magic is starting to lose its sparkle.

 photo anigif_enhanced-buzz-8483-1427711853-28_zpsnxpnsjlb.gif

And yet, even with all that access to behind the scenes information, nobody can make movie magic fizzle quite like an extra.

They’re the unknown faces who fill in the scene so the main talent doesn’t get lonely, the aspiring actors and average joes who see all kinds of stuff on film sets we don't get to see on the DVD.

Extras get to see it all without the fame and fortune, so there's nothing stopping them from spilling the beans, but the revelations found in 21 Secrets Film Extras Will Never Tell You aren't scandalous.

In fact, contributor "Emerald Jones" actually makes the whole movie extra gig seem way more mundane than you'd expect, albeit mundane with a side of Johnny Depp.

10 Reasons Jackie Chan Is Pretty Freaking Awesome

Jackie Chan is a great kung fu actor who is totally charming, but if you aren't a huge fan (or even if you are), this Top Tenz list might just make you love him even more. Aside from facts about his skills as a stuntman and martial artist, the list gives you a good idea of why Jackie Chan is just a good guy all around. For example, he's setting a great example by not only refusing to eat shark fin soup, but also by making others decide not to as well.

The Highest Rated Film Set In Each State

While an overwhelming number of movies are set in California because it's just easier for Hollywood studios to say they're filming where they're already located, there are still plenty of movies set outside the Golden State. If you've ever wondered what the highest-rated movie set in your state happens to be, you're in luck because this map does an excellent job visualizing this information.

As someone in the state of California, I am happy and a bit surprised to learn that of all the films set here, Pulp Fiction is the highest rated. So how about you guys, are you happy about your state film?

R2-ME2, Artists Reimagine Star Wars' Iconic Droid R2-D2

Pee-wee Herman as R2-D2

by Michael Woodring

These may not be the droids you're looking for!

For a Sideshow Collectibles show at the 2015 Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California titled "R2-ME2," artists were given the chance to change the look of a blank R2-D2 1/6 scale figure. Entries included a droid painted to like a robotic Pee-wee Herman (red bowtie and all), Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street ("Scram"), and an adorable likeness of Finn from Adventure Time.

Homemade Mini BB-8 Droid

Everyone is quite taken with the new-style droid from the forthcoming film Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. It just looks so cool with its little head balancing atop a rolling ball body!  Industrial designer Christian Poulsen saw it as a challenge. After seeing a video of the 3D version on stage at Star Wars Celebration, he decided to make one -in only a day.

(YouTube link)

How did he get the head to stay on while the body rolled around? Magnets. The secret here is that he started with a Sphero ball, which is a robotic ball controlled by phone apps. The device inside is weighed so that it doesn’t roll with the ball.

Poulsen posted a tutorial on the process, in case you want to make your own. But if you are not so technically-inclined, Sphero is teasing the story that it will make a BB-8 to sell. -via the A.V. Club

Batman v Superman: Retro Style

(YouTube link)

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser trailer was barely out to the public before Bobby Burns began remixing it to feature Christopher Reeve and Adam West in their iconic superhero roles. The audio from the teaser remains the same. This makes it clear that while we can imagine Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as having nefarious intentions underneath their public personas, it’s hard to look at our old-school heroes that way.

This could have starred George Reeves as Superman, but then you’d get into the color vs. black-and-white mixing problem. And the fact that only us old folks would have appreciated it. -via Time Newsfeed
