Watch Mark Hamill’s Original Screen Test for Star Wars

(Video Link)

Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford sit in the control room of the Millennium Falcon. Their destination, Alderaan, is nothing but radioactive debris. They’re not in costume nor on a proper set. They’re just sitting in chairs and convincingly performing a selection from an early draft of Episode IV. At the 4:01 mark, you can hear George Lucas voicing his approval. Obviously Hamill is the right man to save the galaxy and revive the Jedi Order.

15 Far Out Facts About Space Ghost Coast To Coast

Considering Space Ghost's original run from 1966-67 consisted of only 20 episodes, and less than 90 minutes of animation, Space Ghost should hold his cowled head up high and celebrate the success he had as a talk show host.

Space Ghost: Coast To Coast made it possible for Adult Swim to blossom into the animation juggernaut it is today, and even though he's now a big man on Williams Street campus series creator Mike Lazzo started the show with a budget of zero.

So how was the first episode made? With a tape-to-tape VHS editing system and a Radio Shack mic, the episode consisting of clips from a Denzel Washington interview on CNN and old Space Ghost clips. The show has such a high quality look that you can hardly tell!

37 Star Wars Facts in Honor of Star Wars Day

Image: Lucasfilm / Twentieth Century Fox

To continue the Star Wars Day party, linked below is a lengthy list of facts about the franchise. One story has to do with Sir Alec Guinness. His attitude toward the material and the series was poor, to understate things. He was quoted as saying that Star Wars was “fairy-tale rubbish,” and made it clear he had no interest in participating in The Empire Strikes Back.

Lucas and the other principal filmmakers were able to get Guinness to come around, yet not without granting him the strict conditions he imposed for his involvement. Guinness would work one day only, a day consisting of exactly 4.5 hours of work, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In exchange for his 4.5 hours, Guinness would be paid one-fourth of a percent of the total gross of the movie. Thus, Sir Alec made out like a bandit with millions of dollars for a half day of his time.

The latest installment, Mad Max: Fury Road, is continuing the tradition of giving these amazing apocalyptic vehicles center stage, and there are more vehicles in the new film than all other Mad Max films combined.

Elders React To Mortal Kombat X

The first Mortal Kombat arcade game debuted in arcades back in 1992, when those who are considered senior citizens nowadays were full grown adults.

That means many of them don’t get the appeal of video games, much less a video game where you finish your opponent by ripping their spine out or tearing their still beating heart from their chest.

The latest entry in the series Mortal Kombat X features the goriest and most depraved fatalities yet, so what will elders who already don’t get the appeal of gaming think about this stepped up level of violence?

(YouTube Link)

Surprisingly, some of them seem to really get into the gore in the latest video by REACT, and even though they couldn't pull off any fatalities their competitive natures make them call out for the blood of their opponents!

The Most Ridiculous Gadgets Used By Batman

Batman has taken a dark and gritty turn over the years, evolving into the Dark Knight we all know (and many of us love) today, but even when he has a bad attitude Bats can be a bit of a goofball.

He often relies on his gadgets too much to truly call himself a superhero, and those gadgets are like the comic book equivalent of pulling a rabbit out of his cowl, in other words way too convenient.

Need a spray that keeps female super villains away? Batman's got a can full of Bat-Female-Villain-Repellant on his utility belt for just such an occasion:

Maybe he'll whip up a special kryptonite based spray formula for Supes in the upcoming film?

This Architect's Basement is a LEGO Lover's Paradise

YouTube Link

Architect Jeffrey Pelletier's 250,000-piece LEGO collection is impressive, but what's more impressive is the manner in which he organizes it and the fantastic basement space that houses it. Pelletier's neon-colored house covers an incredible basement complete with nine-foot ceilings and a hidden screen for movies. This is one tricked-out LEGO/man cave and it looks like a ton of fun, even if the kids turn out not to like LEGO. -Via Nerd Approved
