Couples Cosplay With Disturbing Implications

Cosplaying as a couple can be a fun way to experience a fandom convention together, and when your costumes work well together you’re sure to get lots of positive attention from cosplay fans.

But before you and your significant other decide to cosplay together you should think about what your costumes are saying to those who bear witness to your public displays of affection.

Because when your cosplay as Joel and Ellie from The Last Of Us, a middle aged man and a fourteen-year-old girl, and you start making out people who have played the game are liable to lose their lunch.

And if you're a giant guy with a little pixie of a girlfriend cosplaying as The Hound and Arya Stark may seem like a great idea, but you're going to look mighty pervy when you lean down to give young Arya a kiss!

Perfectly Edited Video for William Shatner’s “Common People”

(Video Link)

In 2004, William Shatner released his album Has Been. It included a cover of “Common People,” a song by Pulp. YouTube user LordRicco666 created this video for it, using scenes from classic Star Trek. It’s a truly outstanding job, matching Shatner’s words with the events of the scenes. The video perfectly syncs at two moments, 0:26 and 0:41, during which Kirk mouths the same phrases that Shatner performed nearly 40 years later.

Frodo Has No Idea Where He's Going

Frodo knows many things- how to trim your foot hair so it doesn’t look too feminine, when to throw rotten fruit at an orc and when to walk away, and the prime season to pick pipeweed.

But Frodo’s knowledge of other things is rather limited, and when it comes to finding his way across Middle Earth he’s absolutely hopeless.

This comic masterpiece from UP and OUT by Jeremy Kaye captures the feeling of being Frodo on the freeway flawlessly!

9 Characters That Were Kicked Off Sesame Street

Sesame Street seems like the kind of place where a puppet is free to be a puppet, and the fleece skinned characters that live there seem extremely tolerant of all puppetkind, but some puppets are just no darn good.

They’re the unwanted denizens of Sesame Street, the characters who were removed from the show due to dullness, bad behavior or because their foam forms began to disintegrate after years of use.

But bad puppets aren’t the only ones who have been cut from the cast of Sesame Street, a few human offenders have been fired to hammer home a point about following the rules.

Here's a classic mental_floss article about 9 Muppets Kicked Off Sesame Street, revealing why so many puppets were getting unemployment checks in the 1970s.

Could The Walking Dead Have a Happy Ending?

Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead comics and TV show, gave us hints in a podcast that the series might end on a hopeful note. Not that he’s anxious to end it.

Don’t expect that to come anytime soon, although Kirkman doesn’t want the series to run forever. “Let’s all be honest. season 16? I’m not even going to be watching this show. I’ll be on a boat. Oh, [season 17]? I don’t care! I’ve transcended television.”

He also joked that more spin-offs aren’t out of the question. “We’re doing [Fear the Walking Dead], and I’m sure that, if it does well, we’ll do The Walking Dead: China eventually. [And then] The Walking Dead: SVU.”

But everything must end sooner or later, and it’s usually better to end a TV series before it completely runs out of steam. So Kirkman has an ending in mind that will turn the usual zombie stories around and have humanity actually winning. Read some details of this plan at Uproxx. It would certainly be a turnaround for the series so far, which has already given us five seasons of of violence, despair, and death.

Modern Comic Book Ads for Twinkies

The Hostess brand of snack cakes includes Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, and an assortment of other sweet confections. In the 1970s, it commissioned comic book stories in DC and Marvel publications promoting its products. In these classic ads, several of which you can view here, Captain America, Batman, and other heroes endorse Hostess cakes and good behavior.

Comic Book Resources has a regular feature called The Line It Is Drawn which challenges comic book artists to make funny images along a central theme. This time, it was modern versions of these classic Hostess ads. You can view them all here. My favorite is the rough Marv from Sin City selling Twinkies, courtesy of artist Nick Perks. It references a miniseries in the Sin City universe called That Yellow Bastard.

Terrible Tattoos Of Your Favorite Musicians

(Image Link)

Anybody can find a good artist to give them a good tattoo, but it takes a special kind of schlub to get a terrible tattoo and rock it with pride.

Realistic portrait tattoos are the hardest to apply, since the artist has to have some drawing skill as well as skill with the gun, so it makes sense that most of the bad tattoos in the world are portraits of real people.

But the artist who applied this awful tattoo of Iggy Pop to some poor soul had obviously given up on going for realism.

(Image Link)

Portrait tattoos are one thing, but how do you screw up a band logo this badly, especially when the Slayer logo is so simple?

Tara McGinley of Dangerous Minds has put together a collection of Sh**ty Tattoo Portraits Of Your Favorite Musicians, take a look and feel relieved you're not one of the people pictured...or hang your head in shame if you are! (Contains NSFW subject matter)

The Ridiculously Bad Early Personas Of Wrestling Superstars

Professional wrestlers are expected to adopt larger-than-life personas so the crowd has someone to get behind, or someone to hate with a passion.

The flamboyant, and often ridiculously garbed, characters they portray are generally nothing like the wrestler’s real life self, and yet these characters are often so iconic they can’t seem to move past them in the eyes of fans.

But there are worse things to be remembered for than portraying a smooth badass known as The Rock, like playing the role of sappy golden boy Rocky Maivia, who wears a feathered costume that looks like it was made by a first grader.

And then there are those poor wrestlers who have to start out by portraying a stereotype, such as Triple H’s original foppish French persona Jean-Paul Levesque.

Boy have those two guys come a long way from those goofy early days!

Cruel Things We've All Done In Video Games

Now, unless you’re deranged, you know that what you’re doing in a video game isn’t really hurting anybody, or causing any harm, in the real world. But game designers do such a good job with character and story development that you end up feeling a bit bad about what you've done anyway.

I mean, who doesn't feel for the poor folks trying to scrape out a living in Megaton, which you could choose to blow to smithereens for a few hundred caps in Fallout 3?

Here's What Marvel Superheroes Think About Wolverine

Wolverine has become a fan favorite thanks to the X-Men cartoons, movies and his solo flicks, but back in the day he was just another hard working mutant trying to keep his skin stuck firmly to his adamantium laced bones.

Wolvie has always had a bad temper and a rage to rival that of The Hulk, but overall he’s not a bad guy, right?

Well, according to this fun exerpt from the 2011 Wolverine series, issue #16, not everyone in the Marvel universe holds Wolverine in high regard, but they're all willing to admit he's a total badass!

A Tumblr Created To Help 50 Cent Recover From Bankruptcy

(Image Link)

It’s hard to imagine 50 Cent being bankrupt, what with all the mansions he lives in, expensive vehicles he drives, and hundred dollar bottles of champagne he has been pouring out for over a decade. Oh, now I see it.

Bankruptcy was clearly in Fiddy's future from the very beginning, but when the big B came crashing down around his head Mr. Cent was shook up, and he didn't know where to turn.

Lucky for him, a few of his loyal fans have created the Tumblr site Make 50 Cent Rich Again, where visitors can click a link and play the track "Piggy Bank" on Spotify, thereby earning 50 a cool $0.0011 per listen.

So far the site has earned Fiddy nearly $14.00, which, if nothing else, is about halfway to a decent dinner!

Bizarre Video Games That Really Shouldn't Have Been Made

Back in the 80s and 90s a slew of licensed video games were being made by big name studios simply to make a buck, and the apathy towards the franchises on which they were based really showed in the gameplay.

(YouTube Link)

Those were the days when console games based on TV shows and movies truly unworthy of a game adaptation were being made, and studios were paid to make games about any old thing, even Coca-Cola.

(YouTube Link)

Thankfully, this practice has stopped for the most part, but lest we forget the folly of making a game based on soda or a Mark Twain novel we must view this clip from Greys Anatomy: The Video Game as a reminder.
