Leia and the Beast

I'd advise against approaching this castle. The Beast is known for pulling people's arms out of their sockets.

Instagram user uhnet photographed this great Beauty and the Beast/Star Wars mashup couple at the Disney 23 Expo. Note that Lumiere is now fluent in more than 6 million forms of communication, but all of them with a heavy French accent.

Who would Mrs. Potts would be paired with in the Star Wars universe?

Museum Allows Street Artists To Paint On Their Walls

Before street art gained acceptance it was seen as merely vandalism, which to be fair some works being passed off as street art actually are.

But then there are those amazing murals that make the cityscape a little less drab- they’re works of urban art put up outside for people to freely enjoy, but some street art works really belong in a museum.

The Long Beach Museum of Art felt it was time to bring some street art works indoors, and let some traditional painters try their hand at street styles, so they let a bunch of artists paint the walls of their museum.

Results varied in degree of awesomeness, from “hey, that’s pretty cool!” to “ZOMG Wowee Zowee Kapowee!”, and the exhibition proved that letting a bunch of street artists paint the walls inside your museum is a great idea!

A Supercut Of Hotheaded Gamers Freaking Out

Video game players tend to be a passionate bunch, and when they’re on the edge of the sofa tap-tap-tapping away and trying to take out the competition things can get mighty heated.

Lorne knows I’ve broken a controller or ten by throwing it at the wall, swinging it by its cord and smashing it into the ground, or stomping it into oblivion with the heel of my boots, but some gamers make me look mellow by comparison.

(YouTube Link)

These are the hotheaded gamers who let the anger (and the cursing) fly with reckless abandon in the face of games that cheat or simply aren’t fair. (Sarcasm, in case you were wondering)

World Wide Interweb created a supercut of The Ultimate Gamer Freak Outs, and it kinda makes you wonder- isn't gaming supposed to be fun?! (Contains NSFW language)

Lemmy Has Switched From Whiskey To Vodka...For His Health

Take it from Lemmy, lead singer of Motörhead- clear liquors like vodka are better for your body than the browns like whiskey.

Lemmy has been living a true rock & roll lifestyle for fifty years, living as hard as his lyrics claim, but recent health issues have forced him to leave his beloved whiskey and Coke by the wayside.

Due to gastric distress and dehydration Lemmy must now live the rest of his wild life drinking Screwdrivers instead of Jack & Coke. Lemmy had this to say about the switch “I like orange juice better, so Coca-Cola can f%*k off!”

Star Wars Speeder Bike Rocking Chair

Moving through the forests of Endor at high speed requires incredible dexterity. Get your little Scout Trooper’s reflexes primed for it. That’s what Instructables member Tez Gilmer is doing. He built a rocking horse that looks like a 74-Z speeder from Return of the Jedi. It consists of PVC tubes, plywood, and decorative pieces that he made with a 3d printer.

Tez Gilmer does a lot of amazingly precise fabrication for his kids. In the past we’ve also featured his LEGO creation station.

A Group of Architects Want to Build a Real-life Minas Tirith

A group of British architects have set their sights on a lofty goal: a full-scale replica of the fortified settlement called Minas Tirith, featured heavily in the film The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The cost of such a venture is estimated at $2.9 billion dollars.

The eventual goal would be to build 625 homes within Minas Tirith that would range from 2 star homes that would run about $625,000 to 4 star luxury homes that would cost up to $2.7 million.

If the financial goal is met, construction would be slated to begin in 2016 and finish in 2023.   The architects are eyeing two locations in Southern England for the project.

Where will they get the money? Crowdfunding! So far, they’ve raised $3600. There are 48 days left in the fundraising campaign, so they may reach the goal. And monkeys might fly out of my butt. Read more about the Minas Tirith project at Worthly.

Famous Songs With Misunderstood Meanings

We sing the lyrics to our favorite songs whenever those songs come on, and might even bust out a shaky rendition of those songs when we’re in a karaoke kind of mood, but do we really know what the singer is actually saying?

(YouTube Link)

Most people would say yes without hesitation, but song lyrics aren’t always so easy to decipher, and songs with simpler lyrics can often be the most deceptive.

Take Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The U.S.A. for example- it has been called one of the most patriotic songs ever written, and is played whenever Americans are feeling that homeland pride.

(YouTube Link)

But Bruce’s lyrics are actually referring to America's mistreatment of Vietnam veterans when they came home from the war, as revealed by Neatorama’s favorite guest author Eddie Deezen a few years back.

So now you should only sing “Born In The U.S.A.” on the Fourth of July if you’re doing so ironically!

10 TV Shows That Were Cancelled After Only One Episode

TV shows cancelled after one season generally fall victim to low ratings, which could be due to a lack of advertising or a lack of storyline, but when a show is cancelled after one episode it’s probably for the best.

Because when a pilot episode crashes and burns it saves the viewing audience from being taken on a trip to the bad side of Television Town, where the Hitlers and the Osbournes live.

(YouTube Link)

ScreenRant has compiled a list of 10 TV Shows Cancelled After One Episode, which is all you need to see to know these shows were doomed before they made it on the air.

Pin-Up Portraits Of The Men Of Twin Peaks

Seeing a classic pin-up pose in a photograph reminds us of classic artists like Gil Elvgren and Alberto Vargas and classic photographers like Bunny Yeager, giving the viewer a friendly dose of nostalgia from days gone by.

Thoroughly modern geeks don’t have as much reverence for the classics, as their idea of a classic is often something that came out not so long ago.

So what can bring these two schools of retro cool together? These amazing Men Of Twin Peaks pin-up portraits by Emma Munger.

With plenty of classic poses to keep the old timey fans happy and the ultra hipness of David Lynch to satisfy even the most jaded Hipster, these are one set of portraits worth skipping a slice or two of cherry pie to buy.

The Influence Star Wars Has Had On Movies And TV Shows

Star Wars is one of the most beloved and highest earning franchises in science fiction history, with fans who have grown up watching the series and a slew of new fans who are due to jump on board the Star Wars express when Episode VII comes out.

But a franchise is not judged by its fanbase alone, and Star Wars is not only garnering new fans nearly forty years after the first movie came out- it’s still influencing other sci-fi projects to this day.

Shutterstock created this delightfully minimalist chart to show some of the ways Star Wars has influenced the genre, from the droids and gadgets to the fact that without a Chewbacca we may not have ever met a Groot
