Thank You For Wearing A Friend

And in case you're wondering, yes, the Blanche panties are crotchless.

Ten Of The Most Gruesome Medieval Torture Techniques

Medieval torture techniques are some of the most brutal of all time, and whether they were encouraging a prisoner to talk, punishing a sinner, or simply carrying out a death sentence Medieval torturers were encouraged to perfect their deadly craft.

Part of that perfection of their deadly art involved designing and building devices such as the Judas Cradle, Pear Of Anguish and Iron Chair (pictured above), devices that could only be used as torture devices.

The Judas Cradle, one of the simplest of all torture devices, forced the victim to sit atop a pyramid shaped "seat" that resulted in orifice expansion and intense pressure.

The Pear Of Anguish was also an orifice based device, used to torture homosexuals, blasphemers, and  "women accused of facilitating a miscarriage"- it was usually inserted and expanded to mutilate and wound internally.

But in the end the Iron Chair was one of the most iconic and widely used torture devices in Medieval history, and one of the most feared.

Even though it was just a chair covered in spikes it was used for long term torture, as restraints were tightened over time and the spikes sank deeper into the skin...

Yummy Super Star Destroyer

The Imperial fleet is approaching our position quickly, but I don't want to leave. The ships look so yummy! Surely a warship that presents itself as a delicious treat can't be all that bad.

Roland Tamayo's art is noted for its surreal blending of nature and everyday objects. His current exhibition, titled "Collection of Curiosities," is at the Flower Pepper Gallery in Pasedena, California. What do his edible Super Star Destroyers mean? Tamayo explains:

These pieces are a collection of treats enjoyed by my sons, along with nostalgic treats from my childhood, connected by a mutual love and enjoyment of Star Wars. One of my favorite childhood memories was going to Fedco here in Pasadena, who employed my grandfather as an Optometrist. Because of his employment there, we would go often to buy family supplies, toys, etc., at a discount, and there would always be Toblerone candy at the checkout isle. It was my first introduction to that candy, and whenever I see it, it reminds me of my grandfather. Never would I have thought that a Toblerone candy would be a subject of a painting, especially combined with a Star Destroyer. But I'm so grateful for this opportunity, that it has.

China's Singles Day Has Become A Star Studded Spectacle

November 11th is Single's Day in China, which started out as a day for young people to celebrate their single life by buying themselves a gift but has ballooned into one of the world's largest online shopping days.

That's because some brilliant marketing maven at China's largest online retailer Alibaba advertised the day as a celebration back in 2009, and as interest in Single's Day grew so did the over-the-top theatrics of it all.

This year's festivities included an appearance by Daniel Craig, a Game Of Thrones inspired performance by Adam Lambert and a message from Kevin Spacey encouraging shoppers to buy more candy, all of which was perfectly summed up in this clip from Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. (Contains NSFW material)

(YouTube Link)

With Alibaba earning around $14 billion dollars in one day and top Hollywood actors now making an appearance it seems there's no stopping the Single's Day spectacle from growing into a glittery beast that cannot be ignored.

Check Out This Wonderful Star Wars Easter Egg in Google

Google has many Easter eggs hidden in its code. For example, you can search "do a barrel roll" to see a visual effect, "once in a blue moon" to see a precise calculation, and the "answer to life the universe and everything" to see what you get when you multiply six by nine.

To celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Google made another Easter egg for Star Wars fans. If you Google "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away," you'll see the search results displayed to look like the text crawl in the original trilogy.

Hilarious Ghost In The Car Prank Clip From Japanese Variety Show

Prank videos aren't everyone's cup of tea, but those who enjoy watching people scared half to death in silly ways know that Japanese pranks are about as silly as they come.

For the Japanese love to get all theatrical with their pranking, taking the production well past scary and into the realm of the ridiculous.

This clip from a Japanese variety show features voice actress Tomoko Kaneda freaking out in the back of a cab because she thinks a ghost has appeared in the front seat.

It's sorta like watching a sequence from The Ring play out in a taxi cab, only without the body contortion or creaking.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Proves He Belongs In The Rhythm Nation

When Joseph Gordon-Levitt puts together a routine for Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation he remains in CONTROL the entire time, crushing it with both costume and performance while demanding the nasty call him Mr. Levitt.

This episode of Lip Sync Battle began with Anthony Mackie's energetic performance of MC Hammer's 2 Legit 2 Quit, which the judges seem to love, but then Mr. Levitt stomps in and completely steals the show.

(Fast forward to 2:00 if you just want to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance)

Every Lightsaber Amputation in Star Wars

(Video Link)

Over the course of the Star Wars story, Darth Vader lost six of his four limbs. Luke Skywalker famously lost his now highly collectible right hand. That injury earned him a kiss from resident hottie Leia. Advantage: Luke.

Other characters in Star Wars got off less well. Video editor Pablo Fernández Eyre, who once illustrated the visual symmetry in the movies, now shows this compilation of all of the traumatic amputations performed with lightsabers over the course of Star Wars. It's a total of 26 by my count.

Marilyn Monroe's First Nude Photos Have Been Revealed

Marilyn Monroe became known for a whole lot more than just her appearance in Playboy Magazine back in 1953, but she had no way of knowing she would become one of the most iconic Hollywood actors of all time.

So when she posed for photographer Tom Kelley back in 1949 she billed herself as Mona Monroe and posed for a nude pin-up that would become famous before she became a famous movie star.

This pin-up photo (and the unretouched full nude version) were used in the "Golden Dream" calendar printed around 1951, and when people realized the calendar girl was movie star Marilyn Monroe a few years later it became a big hit with the boys.

Marilyn posed for the picture out of pure "desperation" and was paid a measly $50 for the shoot, never knowing that it would become an important part of the Marilyn Monroe story.

Could You Bring Yourself To Kill Baby Hitler?

(Image Link)

It seems no story of time travel can exist today without mentioning the idea of going back in time and killing Hitler, which sounds like a good idea even though it's one mighty big butterfly to step on.

The theory has evolved to killing Baby Hitler, thereby eliminating the Nazi era from even happening and possibly preventing World War II altogether.

But this creates a new conundrum- could you kill a cute little baby, even if that baby would grow up to be one of the most notorious figures of the 20th century?

Jeb Bush recently said he'd have no problem killing Baby Hitler (actually, he responded to the question with an enthusiastic "Hell Yeah I Would!), but he's not a very good example of normal human morality.

Personally I think the time traveler vs. Hitler debate could be solved without any bloodshed by going back in time and buying Hitler's paintings, thereby legitimizing his art career.

Hitler the artist will be too busy drawing Disney characters and painting portraits of German Shepherds to bring the Nazi party to power, and thirty years later we'd spot him hanging out with Andy Warhol in SoHo!

24 Of The Best Sarcastic Dialogue Options From Fallout 4

The dialogue options are one of the most enjoyable elements in the Fallout franchise, and the fact that your decision actually affects how characters treat and perceive you makes chatting both fun and functional.

But nothing beats those snarky sarcastic line choices, which were apparently made into a mini game of sorts in Fallout 4 as players must hit the X button as soon as the option comes on the screen to fire off a sarcastic remark.

(Video contains spoilers)

Fallout 4 is continuing the tradition of letting gamers play as a post-apocalyptic smartass, and as this video by OutsideXbox proves sarcasm is sweeter than Nuka-Cola when you're making friends outside the Vault.

10 Celebrities With Strange Hobbies

(Image Link)

It's hard to accept that celebrities are just like the rest of us, basically because nobody with that much money is just like the rest of us, but there's one way I believe we are the same- our hobbies.

Celebs may have more money to spend on their collections, but the drive to collect is something we share in common, and stars often collect the same silly stuff we do.

(Image Link)

Tom Hanks says the clackety-clack sound of old school typewriters speaks to him, so that's what he collects. Johnny Depp has a massive doll collection, which includes dozens of Barbies and a Lindsey Lohan doll complete with house arrest ankle monitor.

(Image Link)

But what's David Arquette up to at the top of the post? He's knitting his heart out while on vacation, which is only strange when you consider those are his official knitting shorts...
