What If Wookiees Sounded Like Pee-Wee Herman?

It's too bad George Lucas didn't hire our pal Pee-Wee Herman to voice the massive Wookiee warrior Chewbacca in the original Star Wars trilogy, because Pee-Wee would have totally nailed that role.

You must be wondering what the heck Pee-Wee's voice would sound like coming out of a Wookiee's mouth, well thanks to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema you don't have to wonder anymore!

(YouTube Link)

Using Pee-Wee's voice for that most famous of all Wookiees would have made Chewbacca a bit more compelling as a character, but all that laughing would have made him lose his warrior's edge.

10 Star Wars Lattes

Twitter user @Belcorno, a Japanese latte and pancake artist, appears to be totally psyched for the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. He's been populating his feed with photos of lattes that he's made with characters from Episodes I-VI.

Star Wars: a Drunk History

Mark Zabala’s girlfriend Maggie has never seen the Star Wars movies. They were planning to binge-watch all six films before seeing The Force Awakens. But first, he asked her to explain everything she already knew about Star Wars. After a few drinks.

Richard Gere stars as Lucas, the hero, whose sole aim is to save the Princess from the dark forces of the galaxy. He and his Stormtroopers do just that. The surprise twist is that Darth Vader is human and not a robot like we thought. It gets better from there. -via Gamma Squad

Carrie Fisher Stars In Princess Leia Slave Bikini Beach Photo Shoot

Return of the Jedi was a huge deal back in 1983, and lucky kids like myself who got to see that seminal sci-fi flick in theaters when it came out were swept up in a wave of merchandising and awesome promotional advertising.

It was all pretty much meant for kids, except for one 1983 advertising campaign masquerading as a Rolling Stone article, featuring Carrie Fisher sporting the almost too sexy Princess Leia slave bikini.

The pics are definitely meant to appeal to adults (and give pubescent boys some strong feelings), and the sexiness of the shoot shows George Lucas wasn't just marketing the original Star Wars trilogy to kids.

Kaufland Christmas Ad

This is adorable. He’s a young Star Wars fan. She moves in next door. He’s too shy to introduce himself. But he approaches her in his own nerdy way. Is he just too Star Wars-obsessed for her?

This is the Christmas ad for the German supermarket Kaufland. Don't worry about the language because there is no dialogue. What we have are the universal languages of love, Christmas, and Star Wars. -via Geeks Are Sexy

Crazy Christmas Greetings From Norway

Christmas is about family, food and presents to most, but apparently for some wild and wooly folks Christmas is all about vodka, ice skating and chainsaws.

If you're one of these furry critters fine folks, basically a Cousin Eddie type, then YouTuber apetor from Norway is about to become your new internet hero.

(YouTube Link)

It seems mighty hard to keep up with apetor, and his Christmas cheer is more like X-Mas lunacy, but it'll definitely make you feel good about the kooks in your family!

A Bad Lip Reading of The Empire Strikes Back

The Empire Strikes Back is considered to be the best of the Star Wars movies -so far. So it’s about time it got the Bad Lip Reading treatment, with special guest voices Jack Black, Maya Rudolph, and Bill Hader.

(YouTube link)

This version is strangely musical: Luke raps while flying his jet fighter, Yoda gets down, and even Chewie has something to sing. While still nonsensical, what they say sometimes actually follows the action. Oh, yeah, and Obi-Wan has some misgivings about Luke’s crush on Leia. Go figure.

Confessions Of A Retail Worker

The holiday season is hardest on the poor retail workers who make our consumer spendfests possible with their blood, sweat and tears.

These wage warriors stand on the frontlines of capitalism, defending their stores from invading customer armies while trying to keep their tyrannical managenerals happy.

So when you hit the stores to do some last minute holiday shopping make sure you wave the white flag and show those overstressed and underpaid retail workers that you come in peace! (Comic by AC Stuart)

Mark Hamill Discusses A Star Wars Sequel Back In 1983

Fans felt certain a sequel to the original Star Wars trilogy would follow close on the heels of Return Of The Jedi's success, and back in 1983 Mark Hamill was all ready to star in the sequel.

Little did he know that George Lucas' prediction about it taking almost thirty years to bring that beloved space opera back to the big screen was nearly spot on.

(Warning: This video contains a minor spoiler if you haven't seen The Force Awakens yet)

Medieval Star Wars

A couple of years ago, we showed you an illumination of Yoda found in a medieval manuscript. Then there was another one. It turns out that those aren't the only depictions of Star Wars characters in medieval literature. After all, it was a long time ago, even if it was in a galaxy far, far away. Here you see Princess Leia in her buns wielding two light sabers, from the 1320 CE French manuscript St. Omer Book of Hours. There have also been images found of a Jawa robe, Bib Fortuna in the nude, and several depictions of Chewbacca, Ewoks, and other alien races. See them at the British Library’s Medieval Manuscripts blog. -via Everlasting Blort

Hilarious Video Reveals The Truth About Photos Posted Online

Photos posted on social media outlets usually only tell part of what's actually going on at that moment, so the person posting the photos comes out smelling of roses instead of BS.

It's enough to make you wonder what the heck is going on with the subject of the photo to make them feel they need to edit or fabricate moments in their lives, which they then share like visual lies.

Vietnamese artist Ho Anh Dúc demonstrates how photos posted to social networks are made, and how dumb people look during the making of these fabricated photos.

Sith Lord Orientation Week

As Darth Vader gets to know his potential proteges, they brag about the evil in their hearts. But one is so evil that the others turn on him. Can you blame them? I have yet to see The Force Awakens, due to work pressures, Christmas events, and preparations for the family celebration. That means I have to be careful about which articles I read on the internet, and that’s my job! This frightening comic is from Is It Canon? which bills itself as “comics that ruin everything.” Well, this one stopped before it ruined The Force Awakens. -via Geeks Are Sexy

The Best of Gary the Stormtrooper

Robot Chicken gave us a lot of Star Wars silliness over the past few years. One of the funniest characters is Gary the Stormtrooper, voiced by Donald Faison of Scrubs. This compilation gives us his best scenes. I had only seen the first one, and now my sides hurt. Gary tried to drive the Death Star, but not because he wanted to. We find out what really happened to Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. And Gary meets an Ewok, which does not go well.

Adult Swim UK made several of these compilations in honor of the new movie The Force Awakens. See the best of Darth Vader, The Emperor, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, the Droids, and Han Solo. -via Tastefully Offensive
