Some girls wear their heart on their sleeve, but some geek gals like to wear their gaming accessories on their necks, wrists and ears. For those ladies, MageStudios has all the great geek jewelry you can bear to wear.
While their lady's jewelry is quite fantastic, don't feel too left out if you're a gentleman looking for a few dice accessories -the shop also sells cufflinks and other accessories like keychains.
Video game companies love to use gimmicks to sell their products, and these gimmicks have both revolutionized the industry and made game companies look like a bunch of crooks.
Gimmicks that were total game changers, like the Sanity Meter dynamic in Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem or the V.A.T.S. combat system in Fallout 3, have been imitated and lauded by gamers as really fun and interesting additions.
But the bad gimmicks, like the solar sensor on Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand that forced gamers to go play in the sun or the Nintendo DS' built in mic that forced you to blow on it to play certain games, left gamers feeling burned.

The internet is yielding a massive outpouring of fan art surrounding the new movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I finally got to see the movie today and as far as I can tell, this collection of fan art contains no spoilers. It’s mainly portraits from talented folks like Brandan Ray Leathead above and Ibrahem Swaid below.
There was a time when Hollywood movies didn't make it out of the country, but when filmmakers found they could sell their films to an overseas audience and make boatloads of cash they started catering to these new clients.
They began shooting more on location footage in Europe and Asia, casting European and Asian actors more often and generally pandering to that new frontier of profit.
Now, thanks to their efforts, China is about to surpass the U.S. as the largest film market in the world, which may not seem like a bad thing until you consider how it will change the face of the industry.
Product placement will become even more disruptive to the movie, comedy movies will become even lamer, scripts will be written for easy translation and censorship will take a strange turn as Hollywood chases those Yuan.
That is: eventually. There's no rush. But when my time comes, the right way to store my remains after my burning my body in a pyre while I am dressed in a Darth Vader costume is with one of these urns offered by Urns for Ashes. My preference is for the Vader urn. But if it is possible to commission a custom urn, then a ceramic Jar Jar really captures the true me.
R2-D2 has wheels and thrusters. C-3PO has legs. But how does BB-8 from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens move? As a technical question, that's really unclear--until now.
All you need is a cat. Are cats in the Star Wars universe? Never mind. An Ewok child will do the job, too.
American advertising companies claim ads that are too strange befuddle and alienate customers, but in Japan ad companies often have to go full blown bizarro to sell products.
But Japanese ad companies don't just make strange or silly commercials- they make some of the most watchable TV spots in the world.
FunDelight put together two really fun to watch commercial compilations for our amusement, featuring a ton of Japanese TV ads, some new, some old, all amazing!
(Please note: the racy thumbnail images are the uploader's sad attempt at clickbait, and not part of the videos. But don't hold that against the compilations, they're extremely fun to watch!)
Snapchat has proven to be more than just a way for people to instantly share pics and vids with their social network, and the app is quickly becoming the new source for slice-of-life comedy.
But before you start Snapchatting every silly thing you see you'd better take some notes from those who have mastered this social media style of comedy.
Of course, if a ridiculously funny photo op presents itself you'd better Snapchat that right away!
Perfecting the art of Snapchat comedy will take a lot of fine tuning, so keep trying out your best material on those in your network who appreciate your sense of humor and keep looking for those LOLs.
And when all else fails go cute and furry, because the internet loves cute and furry for some reason.
In a perfect world we got the toys we wanted for our birthdays and holidays like Christmas when we were young, but since there's no such thing as a perfect world we often got really crappy toys instead.
These toys were close enough to the toys we actually wanted that our friends and family members felt they made fine presents, but the look of disappointment on our faces as we opened them said it all.
Every kid grew up with a friend whose nose was perpetually running, or else they themselves were the snotty associate, but for those rare few who never had the pleasure there's Drippy the Runny Nose Kid.
Drippy came in both boy and girl models, with the only real difference being the dress and the hair, and Drippy showed that both sexes are equally disgusting when they're young.
To call American Man anything but a flat farce posing as an action figure would be a lie, because he's really just a glorified paper doll.
And yet somehow American Man was supposed to spark a child's imagination, because with his press-on clothing and accessories he can be an athlete, sportsman and trooper while standing very still at all times.
Something tells me American Man never outsold good old G.I. Joe!
Kids naturally wonder what it would feel like to milk a cow, and Milky The Marvelous Milking Cow doesn't really help much at all.
Milky dips her head down and drinks water, then kids can pull on her plastic teats and supposedly get the feel for milking a heifer without all those farm smells and mess.
And yet Milky was a massive flop, because despite Kenner's claims kids didn't really care for milking tiny plastic cows.
Good things come to those who wait, sometimes even when you aren't aware of hte wait! Redditor OMGparty got a particularly awesome toy for Christmas this year. See, in 1981 or ’82, he was a little boy who loved Star wars action figures. His mother bought him one for Christmas that was overlooked in the wrapping process when it was hidden in a drawer. I’ve done that before. When she found it later, she decided to hold onto it and give it to him at an appropriate time. One thing led to another, and before you know it, it’s 2015. It was time.
The X-Wing fighter pilot Luke is one of a series of Star Wars action figures produced by the Kenner toy company between 1978–1985. Fans refer to this as "the vintage line." The X-Wing version of Luke originally debuted with Kenner's X-Wing model before getting his own box and costume in 1979. As action figures go, this one is pretty iconic.
Since OMGparty's gift is still in its original packaging, known as a 20/21 back card, it's considerably more valuable as a collector's item than any of the millions of similar X-wing pilot Lukes that have been taken out and played with. (In collectors' jargon, these toys are "loose.") And since it features a special promotion for Return of the Jedi, it could easily be worth several hundred dollars.
The package still has the original price tag from Kmart. It was $2.50. OMGparty isn’t planning to sell it -it’s too special after his mother held onto it for three decades for him. Read the whole story at The Daily Dot. See more pictures at imgur.
We're huge fans of Star Wars and stoked to Star Wars The Force Awakens. We shot this over 2 days in Vancouver BC Canada in Stanley Park. We've been wanting to do this video for awhile ever since we met David Barron and saw his crazy contact sword skills and thought he looked like a Jedi using the force to move the swords around his body so we figured why not make a Star Wars themed video out of it.
Mad skills and the light that makes the weapons easy to see combine to make a thoroughly enjoyable demonstration video. -via Geeks Are Sexy
Those who wish Halloween continued well into the holiday season are probably dead tired of watching Christmas movies, and even classic Christmas themed horror movies have lost their flavor by now.
And yet you may be stuck indoors for a while without anything good to watch, which could result in a real life horror movie scenario taking place in your home, so you'd better dig up some new flicks fast!
Might I recommend a deliciously dark Western starring Kurt Russell called Bone Tomahawk? It's a slow burner with a razor smooth finish.
Or, if you like your horror a bit more cutting edge, you may want to check out Circle, a sci-fi horror flick about people trapped and forced to decide each others' fate:
In a massive, mysterious chamber, fifty strangers awaken to find themselves trapped with no memory of how they got there. Organized in an inward-facing circle and unable to move, they quickly learn that every two minutes, one of them must die... executed by a strange device in the center of the room.
The Unipiper (Brian Kidd) gets into the spirit of The Force Awakens by trading in his unicycle for a BB-8 torso. The balance is strong with him. Not only is he staying upright on that thing in the rain, he’s also playing his flaming bagpipes while wearing a Kylo Ren getup!
Wouldn't it be cool if we could all choose our own paths in life?
We would be seen as serious spellcasting Warlocks or mighty head chopping Warriors simply because we chose that path from the very beginning, gaining (life) experience points as we grow.
Sadly, life is not like a roleplaying game or Choose Your Own Adventure book, and once people see you as a sneaky Thief instead of the mighty Wizard you aspire to be your character class is set for life.
For Lack Of A Better Comic knows that feel, and even though he self identifies as a Barbarian Bard with Chaotic Evil tendencies he's often mistaken for a Druid from the Underdark. Go figure, eh?
A new Star Wars movie with new characters means new cosplay! Redditor samartypants got ahead of this year’s cons by dressing as Rey for her family’s Boxing Day party. Now, Boxing Day isn’t normally a costume event, but her family began the tradition 13 years ago for themselves. Cool idea. She also showed us a closeup of the stick she made. The entire costume was created from things she found around the house the night before the party.
