Time Lapse Video Of Body Painting Artist Transforming Herself Into Thanos

Body painting is not only mind-blowing to see when its finished, it's also really fun to watch being done, especially in time lapse so you can see the whole thing come together while your attention span holds strong.

Now take the fun of watching of an ordinary bodypaint video and multiply it by 10000x, because seeing Kay Pike turn herself into Thanos at 10000x speed is just plain super!

It's really hard to tell where Kay's facial features lie under all that line work and color when the transformation is complete, and if the makeup career doesn't pan out Kay would make a great inker!

Pictures That Prove We're Living In The Future

 photo anigif_original-4116-1450205916-1_zpszfeabzol.gif

(Image Link)

We may not be living in the personal jet packs and flying cars future sci-fi made us dream about, but our 21st century world is pretty futuristic.

Or maybe we should start referring to the the world we live in , and the tech we've integrated into our lives, as modernistic, because the future is now.

We've got prosthetic hands that can be 3D printed and built in less than 48 hours, hundreds of gigabytes of memory in our tiny SD cards, and one little smartphone replaced eight different devices.

(Image Link)

And speaking of that most futuristic form of reproduction 3D printing we can now use a pen to "print" a 3D "drawing", we can print out chocolate in any shape we want, and we can create the ultimate birthing memento- a 3D print of your unborn child.

If that ain't futuristic I don't know what is!

What Didn’t Make It Into The Force Awakens

While it may be an exaggeration to say the The Force Awakens was thirty years in the making, it was a long and involved process, beginning the moment Disney bought Lucasfilm. Mr Sunday Movies tells us about some of the many ideas, concept artworks, and plans that the creators went through and ultimately changed or rejected before the final product was unveiled. Contains spoilers, but if you haven’t seen the movie by now, you probably don’t care about any of this.

(YouTube link)

In the process of winnowing all this down to what was actually put into the movie, they ended up with the best that was left and would fit into two hours and 16 minutes. It sure didn’t seem that long. -via Geeks Are Sexy

Obi-Wan's Recollection of Luke's Father with Footage from the Star Wars Prequels

(Video Link)

George Lucas didn't plan to have Darth Vader be Luke Skywalker's father when Episode IV came out. But he worked it in and the idea makes sense from a certain point of view--as Obi-Wan later tells Luke.

It gets more complicated when Episodes I-III describe the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker. Some fans think that it doesn't make any sense at all. But YouTube user Shahan Reviews edited Obi-Wan's remembrance of Luke's father so that he seems haunted by the past. Obi-Wan isn't lying to Luke. He's just trying to come to grips with what he lost those many years ago.

Samuel L. Jackson Reads Famous Movie Lines His Way

Movie stars don't come much more recognizable or badass than Samuel L. Jackson, the guy who somehow manages to be a Jedi and a Bad Mother...er at the same time.

Part of the reason he's so recognizable are all the infinitely quotable lines he's delivered with a little extra L. in movies like Pulp Fiction, Snakes On A Plane and, most recently, in Tarantino's The Hateful Eight.

But as you can see in this clip from The Late Show With Stephen Colbert not all famous movie lines and catchphrases sound cool coming out of Samuel L.'s mouth.

Mr. Jackson also managed to come up with the perfect plot for Snakes On A Plane 2- Lions and tigers and bears on a plane, oh my!

Watch Just Cause 3 Basically Play Itself

There are a few things that make it immediately clear a video game is broken- when a level is unbeatable, when glitches make the game unplayable, and when a game sits and plays itself.

That last one is the rarest of the three because it actually takes more work to muck your game up in that way, since the bit going haywire is the non-player character AI added to make the world feel more real.

The new game Just Cause 3 apparently has its NPC AI set to "go crazy whenever player character stands still", because standing still turns the street into a bloody nightmare in less than two minutes.

(YouTube Link)

Not sure how the rest of the game plays out, but this video by ThingsWePlay proved Just Cause 3 is a great game to turn on in the background while hosting a cocktail party.

Snow White Leia Cosplay

(Photo of cosplayer Ashlyn Brooke)

Snow Leia and the Seven Droids ended abruptly when the princess turned aside the Evil Queen's proffered apple and instead shot her with a blaster. Then she rescued the Prince, who was sleeping inside a block of carbonite.

Then vs. Now: Watching a New Star Wars Movie

Things have changed a lot in the last 40 years. Julia Lepetit of Dorkly contrasts the experience of watching the original Star Wars trilogy with the experience we have with The Force Awakens. There was no internet back then. No having to be diligent to avoid spoilers. No global community discussing every aspect of fandom. But the biggest difference is the existence of those three prequels that came in between. -via Geeks Are Sexy

Man Experiences Happiest Moment Of His Life When He Finds Rare Magic Card

For many Magic: The Gathering is more than just a card game- it's a passion, an obsession, and a set of playable cards they'll be collecting for the rest of their lives.

Many non-gamers assumed the MTG trend would fade away like Pokemon or Yu-gi-oh, but they were unaware of the power Magic cards have to change a player's life.

(Skip to around 8:00 to see the discovery)

(YouTube Link)

To be fair the Black Lotus card discovered by openboosters in the video is an extremely rare card released around 1993 and valued at over $27,000, but how's he going to feel if he loses with that card in his deck?

Star Wars for the Classical Guitar

(Video Link)

Alhambra Guitars, a Spanish manufacturer of classical guitars, recently celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. To mark the occasion, it invited Rafael Aguirre to perform before a live audience at the Palau de la Música de València.

Aguirre offered this lively medley of Star Wars music, beginning with 20th Century Fox's trademark theme and running through familiar favorites, from the Imperial March to the Throne Room award ceremony.

I've heard this music played many times, but never with this zesty flavor.

The Memes We Loved And Lost In 2015

A magical thing happens every time we say goodbye to the old year and hello to the new- everything we cared about from the old year dies.

It's not a physical death, and since we share so much of ourselves online that old year's stuff still lives on forever in virtual space, but according to the interwebs stuff from last year is no longer relevant and therefore "dead".

That includes viral content, top news stories and, of course, or beloved memes. Remember when you gave a crap about Left Shark for a total of two weeks back in February?

(Image Link)

Oh, you didn't care for that funky dancer in the foam suit? Me neither, which means you were probably more of a Pizza Rat fan.

(Image Link)

No love for that hungry little guy either, eh? Well then let me introduce you to Demi Lovato's basement dwelling twin sister Poot, she's far more frightening than Left Shark or Pizza Rat so you'll simply adore her!

The Time Tiny Tim Went Disco On The Tonight Show

(Image Link)

People assume Tiny Tim was a trainwreck behind the scenes, but in reality he was just a ukulele loving nerd who was so obsessed with old timey music he officially earned the title 'archivist'.

However, his act was relegated to the realm of novelty from day one, his quirky uke playing and freaky falsetto singing deemed too strange for mainstream music lovers.

After his first album God Bless Tiny Tim was released his career quickly headed downhill, and ten years later he officially reached rock bottom on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson back in 1979.

(YouTube Link)

The look on Johnny's face at the end of Tiny Tim's freaky performance is priceless, and it's nice to hear Tim's normal singing voice for once, but I found his suit to be a bit too flashy...

Carol Burnett Works Unexpected Earthquake Into Comedy Sketch

Carol Burnett is an amazing comedian, a vibrant host and a consummate professional, and with her at the helm The Carol Burnett Show ran along smoothly for over a decade.

Back in 1974 the show welcomed The Jackson 5 to take part in a sketch about a music class taught by a real square teacher, a sketch that did not include any mention of an earthquake.

(YouTube Link)

They say the more time you spend in Southern California the less you notice earthquakes, and judging by the way everyone just disregards the trembling they're all very familiar with the SoCal shuffle!

Outtakes and Bloopers from the First Six Star Wars Films

Enjoy bloopers, gags, and behind-the-scenes silliness from the sets of the Star Wars prequels and (starting at 6:30) the original trilogy. There are flubbed lines, falls, and technical difficulties galore. Some of them leave the green screens in place; for others, such as Jar Jar scenes, they actually added the CGI to the bloopers.

The one that made me laugh out loud was when Obi-Wan twirled his light saber and hit Anakin in the crotch. -via Tastefully Offensive

Anime-Themed Acupuncture Clinic

Japanese Twitter user @masamasan recently visited an acupuncture clinic that is covered from floor to ceiling with merchandise and images from the anime series Is the Order a Rabbit? I've seen the show. It's pretty good and not the slightest bit creepy, but the designer of this acupuncture clinic has managed to undo that, ah, limitation.

I suspect that some non-otaku might find it unsettling. You can see more photos at Rocket News 24 and judge for yourself. Keep in mind the difference between anime fans and non-fans.
