If Hugh Hefner Designed the Avengers

Damn Thor and Loki, you two are looking gooood. Just think how much better The Girls Next Door would have been if it featured a bunch of Marvel characters instead.

Rarely do websites feature so many amazing costumes in one gallery, but Geek-O-System readers are a special bunch and so it makes sense that the Halloween costume pics they submit are a cut above the rest.
It's a geek's delight on Halloween night, and all the dorkiest costumed characters are here, including the rarely seen Philosoraptor and the equally elusive Double Rainbow. 2010 was a great year for geeky costumes!

Making a Halloween costume for yourself usually entails sewing up some fabric and applying a bit of makeup, but the guy in this picture (Shawn Thorsson) spared no expense in creating his own custom Predator costume and thereby forever raised the bar for homemade costumers.
Shawn was even nice enough to post the entire process on his blog, so you can follow along and make your own if you've got a month or two to spare...

Here's a cheery little tune for all the Halloweenies out there in that great big digital land we call the interwebs- it's Children's Day At The Morgue and it's a real hoot!

Seeing kids in cute costumes is a big part of what makes Halloween the most fun holiday of the year, so why not browse picture galleries full of costumed kids all year long?
Here's The Mary Sue's kids costume gallery from 2011, perfect for enjoyment any time of the year and guaranteed to make you smile. Kids are why Halloween will never go out of style!

Every year Halloween stores stock costume fails which seem impossible for anyone with a brain to have overlooked.
Example 1- round fuzzy mouse ears, like those worn by iconic cartoon characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse, labelled as cat ears. WTF? Has the person responsible for labeling each product never seen a cat before?
Example 2- a knight or Crusader costume labeled as a Samurai. Don't they have Google wherever these costumes are being made? Even the kid in the picture knows that the costume has been mis-labeled, and he's not happy about it at all!
If you've ever wanted to fake your own death, or scare the wits out of people by making them think you've just been shot, then you'll want to pay attention to this informative short video which shows you how to create a blood cannon with an air compressor.
This spectacular effect is easily achieved, but the scars left on the minds of the witnesses will last a lifetime!

These spooky stars of stage and screen are remembered best for the iconic characters they portrayed in classic horror movies like Dracula and Frankenstein, but their grave sites don't look very spooky at all.
Visit the final resting places of ten of Hollywood's most well-known, and beloved, horror movie stars and you'll discover what's truly scary- spending the afterlife surrounded by bozos!
Grover is a cute and cuddly monster with a wild imagination and a great sense of humor. Old Spice is a scented product you apply to various parts of your body to stink less. Grover parodies the Old Spice ads and shows you how to smell like a monster at the same time, and many LOLs were discovered thanks to this video.

He's crazy, he's a mutant and a cyborg, he's crazy mutant cyborg guy! This chaotic, and totally creepy looking, costume is made out of foam core board, wires and old junk, perfect for that "I just put myself together" look you'd expect from a crazy mutant cyborg guy.

For the lovers of all things dark Halloween is an everyday affair, so why bother wearing a crazy costume when your normal attire will suffice?
Emily Barrera draws from her own experience, and from the look of things she and Wednesday Addams would have made quite a pair!

Homer Simpson is a popular Halloween costume choice which is pretty easy to put together, but when you dress up like a Simpson it's the details that matter.
The first guy's doing it right- full face mask, good belly pad, proper outfit and yellow gloves to finish it all off.
The second guy is doing it all wrong- he's got only half a mask, and some terribly thin yellow paint slapped haphazardly all over his face. His belly pad is hanging out, his pants aren't the right color, and for that matter neither are his arms! D'oh!
Dressing up for Halloween doesn't need to be a lowbrow affair. Halloween is a great time to show the world your highbrow tastes by wearing a costume inspired by some well-known works of art.
Checking out these art-inspired costumes is like taking a trip to the museum of art, without all the glaring security guards or the cover charge.

Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots and the most popular Transformers themed costume choice by far. But how do you properly replicate the look of a alien robot without breaking the bank?
Instructables contributor dannyeurena can show you how, and this costume is so cool looking no one will ever know it's made almost entirely out of cardboard!

It's official- 2012 was the strangest year ever for sexy Halloween costumes. First came the sexy Sesame Street costumes, then there was the sexy Ursula costume (which didn't come in plus sizes), and now this- sexy fruit and vegetable attire, perfect for inciting a feeding frenzy!
"Gee, I sure wish I could be an ear of corn this Halloween, but not your average ear of corn, a SEXY ear of corn!" Ladies-your prayers have been answered!
