I'm sure you wouldn't expect polycistic kidney disease to be pretty, but seeing what it actually looks like is still pretty shocking -especially when you find out that the image in question is actually a cake. I don't know about you guys, but I'd have a hard time trying to get this one down.
Man, pumpkins sure have it rough after Halloween - first they're squashed, then they're pureed into pies come Thanksgiving, and then the winter frosts move in and they all die off until next year.
Maybe there's a magical place, some place better, where a pumpkin can settle down and rot in peace...
Hate putting up Halloween decorations only to take them down again just to put up Christmas decorations? Then maybe you should try putting up some Nightmare Before Christmas decorations since you can leave them up all the way until January. Flickr user slcjeeper even put up photos of how he created all these great decorations.
Take a trip through the cereal aisles of Halloweens past with Geek Tyrant's gallery of spooky cereal brands from back in the day.
Some still exist (FrankenBerry, BooBerry and Count Chocula), most didn't taste very good, but the packaging and TV spots sure looked good to the eyes of media addicted youngsters.
Aaaah, the good old days of sugary cereal and cartoon monsters!
Tired of looking all "normal resolution" on Halloween? Want to dress in more of an 8-bit style, pixelated tie and all?
That's clearly what clever costumer Dan Liuzzi was thinking when he constructed this 8-bit helmet mask which shows the world what a blockhead he really is!
The clever costumer in these pics decided that two looks are better than one, so he built this awesome caged Hobbit being carried by a Ring Wraith costume that makes him look all tiny and hairy footed.
Now all he has to do is master David Blaine's levitation trick and his costume will go from amazing to out of this world!
A Russian ice cream company called Stoyn is releasing a series of odd flavored ice cream bars shaped like horror movie icons such as Freddy Kreuger, Chucky and Pinhead.
The flavors range from gross (tomato hot pepper) to interesting (mint blue curacao, celery melon) to downright delicious (cheesecake), so it's too bad they're only available in Russia.
I guess I'll just have to find some other delicious slasher shaped food products to enjoy!
Oreo cookies with creme that tastes like candy corn -now, that will get you in the mood for Halloween! Kraft will have the limited edition cookies available starting Monday, September 10th at Target stores. I'll have to find someone with a Target in their town to send me some! Link -via Laughing Squid
Zombie connoisseurs looking for the best wine to pair with their human flesh need look no further, thanks to the wisdom of Maynard James Keenan (Tool frontman/winemaker), and the experienced tongue of Damien Casten (wine distributor).
Maynard's take on the taste pairings:
Maynard James Keenan, who owns both Merkin Vineyards and Caduceus Cellars, what wine would go best with human face. Keenan recommends pinot noir for the cheeks, a big shiraz for the tongue, and beer for the nose and lips.
Damien Casten's tastes:
According to Casten, the gray matter is best paired with a chenin blanc from Saumur or a chardonnay from the Maconais in Burgundy.
There you have it undead folks, the next time you're looking for a bottle to drink with your heart-y dinner you'll know what tastes best on a tongue.
A YouTuber named MorRokk didn't want to leave her dwarf caiman out of the Halloween fun, so she created a sweet suit of Iron Man inspired armor for the cute little chomper, so he could live out his superhero dreams.
Despite his heroic costume nobody gave this little guy any candy because they were afraid he'd bite their hand off.
Superheroes, especially the reptilian ones, live an extremely hard life...
Zombie Paws is crowd sourcing a new line of Halloween costumes for dogs all intended to be gory and dark alternatives to the cutesy ones you normally see in the Halloween stores (although we do have some pretty awesome geek ones in the Neatoshop).
By donating, you can even get an early version of the three flagship costumes (zombie, robot and terror bug) and they should hopefully get there in time for Halloween. Who knows, maybe by next year the guys will have the funding they need to become a full-time manufacturer and the Neatoshop will even be carrying Zombie Paws costumes.
