Halloween Traditions- The Keene Pumpkin Festival

Keene, New Hampshire is home to a Halloween tradition that really lights up the night- the town gets together and carves thousands of pumpkins, which they display on a pumpkin pyramid, in an attempt to break a world's record.

In 2012 the town carved a total of 29,381 pumpkins, which is short of the 32,000 pumpkin world record, but the sheer spectacle of the event and town unity have made the Keene Pumpkin Festival a big hit since 1991.
