It looks like a storefront in a stripmall in suburban America, but Big Iowa BBQ is in Tokyo.

The barbecue at least looks very authentic and is served with appropriate side dishes. The meats, which include brisket and pulled pork, are smoked daily for that fresh aroma and taste.

And the decor leans heavily into Americana--or at least what a modern American brewpub looks like. It looks like a very affectionate vision of the United States, not a parody. The restaurant celebrates the heartland state of Iowa in particular and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes are favored.
