Alexandra Dillon is an artist in Los Angeles who paints human figures on everyday objects. These faces add personalities to the tools. I'm especially fond of this cleaver that, with a terrified face anthropomorphizing it, creates a sense of horror for the viewer.
In an interview with VoyageLA, Dillon described how the Old Masters influenced her creative development. The technical inspiration is clearly visible in this flirtatious axe.
You could write an entire novel about the soul behind this weeping, encaged eye.
Dillon is especially proud of her painted vintage brushes. They, like most of her works, are for sale on her online shop.
