Topping a Palm Tree

Lumberjacks in the forest may fell giant trees whole, but in an urban area, you have to be careful not to take out the whole neighborhood. When a tree gets too tall, the best thing is to take it down a section at a time. This palm tree in San Bernardino, California, got so tall that it was bending over, so it was better to take it down than to wait for it to fall. But the job wasn't without danger, as you can see. -via Laughing Squid

My family used to camp in Carpenteria every year for spring break and these mints were the highlight of the trip! Well, that and The Spot for burgers and The Palms for steaks. And from what I recall, the owners are Luc Robataille's aunt and uncle? I can't remember. The mints are pricey but worth it, in my opinion. I think I'm going to order up a box right now. :)

The picture doesn't really do them justice but they are much flatter than poker chips, actually. Once you see them they look nothing like a poker chip. Or maybe it's just because we always used to get the pastel ones and you don't really see pastel poker chips all that often.
