This article states Ogden is the oldest town in Utah and gives a date of 1851. Ogden was the first white settlement in Utah. Miles Goodyear built a tiny cabin and a trading fort (Fort Buenaventura) in 1845. There were probably a dozen still inhabited towns in Utah founded before 1851, including Salt Lake City, founded in 1947.

The oldest verified continually occupied town in Alaska (& North America too) is Point Hope Alaska @ 10000+ yrs, not Kodiak at a skinny 290 yrs.
