Move Over Fidget Spinners, These Kwist Fidget Sticks Are About To Take Over

I'm sure you've heard about Fidget Spinners by now, since they're super popular with the wee folk and on the news daily as schools ban them and people claim they were injured by these fad toys.

They were supposedly created to help people with ADHD by keeping their hands busy, but as soon as they became a full blown toy trend people started sharing "cool fidget spinner tricks", all of which look pretty lame to me.

Which is why these Kwist fidget sticks will probably take over for the spinners when the fad mania dies down, because they're not pretentious, they're virtually unbreakable, and "Kwisters" can do some pretty sweet looking tricks with them.

So what exactly is a Kwist Stick?:

Kwists are pieces of rubber-tipped cherry wood cut into a special cylindrical shape that "allow it to turn, jump and twist in many different ways while retaining a surprising amount of kinetic energy."

Fidget spinners are trendy because they look cool and they're really easy to use for beginners. These things look hard to do anything fun with. With all due respect, pass. : )

Outstanding! I can't find any explanation at the link regarding why this process wasn't commercially exploited. Perhaps audiences were sufficiently awed by B&W, and this would have been more expensive.

Thanks for posting this.

Anyone up on their old silent movie actresses? I thought the last woman looked a lot like Mae Murray, but wasn't sure. Hopefully, I am not the only one left out there who knows who Mae Murray was!

Wow Marty you're good! My only reaction to her was hey she somehow looks familiar, but then again lots of these actrices from back then have a certain kind of stereotype look. Just like nowadays they all would look the same if we would look back at them about a hundred years later.

To see her in moving color is amazing- never thought to see that.
