There have been many incarnations of the Power Rangers, which evolved from the Super Sentai series that originated in the 1970s. However, the internet generation is most familiar with the 1993-1996 series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The new Power Rangers film that opened this past weekend with middling reviews is supposedly based on that 1993 series -but it's not the same.
