David Letterman is leaving the talk show world behind, and thereby leaving a gap in late night larger than the one between his two front teeth that will soon be filled by the supremely talented Stephen Colbert.
But even though Stephen will definitely measure up to Dave in terms of interviewing talent and likeability Colbert will never be able to match Letterman's gift for reinventing the talk show.
From the post interview interview to the talk show host POV camera, the purposely hilarious top ten lists, the stupid funny contests and, my personal favorite, stupid pet (and human) tricks, Letterman added so much to the world of talk shows it's gonna be a crying shame to say goodbye.
