Superheroes are a staple source of inspiration for cosplayers, and even those who prefer to cosplay as anime or video game characters usually find a way to include a superhero costume in their collection.
We've all seen the standard costumes, the milestone issue specific costumes, and the generally kinda generic superhero costumes worn at conventions throughout the year, but what about the weird and wonderful costumes?
Well, if wonderfully weird is what you're looking for then go forth, faithful reader, and discover the different side of superhero cosplay!

Although it's a good idea to start cosplaying as a superhero as early as possible
Because, as painful as it might be to admit, some costumes don't look right on an older cosplayer
But hey, at least you'll always be able to pull of the big banana look!
Speaking of pulling off an outfit- it takes a cosplayer possessed of a special kind of madness to pull off a really weird costume
You have to fully commit to your kooky new role, becoming one with the costume
So people will believe you're truly the hero you claim to be
Even if who you're claiming to be is a giant Minion version of Wolverine!

Livin' la cosplay vida loca can cause some people to crack up
They start seeing cosplayers everywhere
And can't seem to decide which character they want to be, resulting in a freaky cosplay crossover
Sometimes freaky cosplay can get a little too freaky, and cosplayers get so into their roles that they're no longer attracted to anyone but themselves
That's when you know it's time to take a little break from cosplaying
Because, while you might be looking fly
You never know when you might run in to someone even more fly than you!
Aaaah, tangents- they're totally off the main track, just like this collection of weird-erful cosplays. I hope you've enjoyed this trip through the bizarre underbelly of the traditional cosplay world, and the next time you don a costume make it weird!
