9 More Painful Truths about Having Long Hair

Cassandra is a cartoonist in Canada. She has long hair and sometimes draws about it. Flowing long locks can be beautiful. But, in reality, there's a price to pay for them. In the past, Cassandra has shown us the differences between the expectations and reality of long hair and painful truths about having it.

Now she shows us 9 more problems that people with short hair probably never think about.

One more- it's hard to get hairdressers to cut it off. I had ten inches cut off last week, and I had to keep reassuring the stylist that it was okay, that I really wanted that much cut. I'm not all that attached to the hair; I just haven't had a cut in a very long time.

This is why I keep my girlfriend out of the kitchen while cooking. Nothing worse than having one draped over the uvula and doing the chicken walk.

My girlfriend used to have thick red hair she usually wore in a braid past her butt, thick as my wrist. (I have thick wrists, too) She cut 24" off to donate to cancer patients, and lost about 10 lbs in minutes. A lot of her neck pain cleared up too.

I locked mine in the car once. Had to stand there yelling till a neighbour came out and once she'd finished laughing went into my house and got the keys to unlock the car door. I was much more careful about making sure it was clear of the door after that.

I tucked it into my jeans more than once too. It was a huge relief when I got it cut.
