Teacher with Phobia of Young Children Lost Lawsuit Against School

Kids are scary. I know. I have three of my own.

But if you have a phobia of young children, then perhaps you shouldn't be a teacher. That's what a woman named Maria Waltherr-Willard just found out as she lost her appeal in a lawsuit against her local school district.

According to SFGate, the 63-year-old high school Spanish and French language teacher was transferred to a middle school. There, the seventh- and eighth-graders triggered her phobia, causing "her blood pressure to soar" (which is probably what seventh and eight graders do even to normal adults) and forced her to retire.

Waltherr-Willard sued for breach-of-contract as she stipulated that the high school had promised not to let little kids come near her, but the court decided against her claims.

(What better thumbnail to illustrate this post than the creepy Disaster Girl?)
