The yaybahar sounds like an electronic synthesizer, but it’s a completely acoustic instrument that uses only drum-like membranes, strings, mallets, and bows. Sounds very similar to hitting a telephone pole's guy wire, which emits a sound like the blasters in Star Wars. I think they actually used a similar technique to generate those sounds back in 1977. We used to do it all the time back then as well.
