Sometimes Mothers Day can induce a bit of guilt, which mothers are already good at, by making you think you aren’t deserving of the cards and flowers you get. When you think you’re not a good mother, you can always grab one of these books and realize that your mothering skills (or those of your mother) could be oh-so much worse. Flavorwire has two lists of books that take bad motherhood to a new level: The 10 Most Horrible Mothers in Fiction and its counterpart, 10 Memoirs About Terrible Mothers. To be honest, the moms in the nonfiction list is worse, because truth is stranger than fiction.
