April 25th is Anzac Day, a day to remember those who gave their lives in war, observed in Australia, New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Niue, Pitcairn Islands, and Tonga. ANZAC is an acronym for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. April 25th was selected to remember the Gallipoli campaign in World War I, as ANZAC forces landed in Turkey in April 25th, 1915. After World War II, the date became a remembrance day for those who died in all wars.
