Turn An Ordinary Mug Into A Musical Instrument

(Video Link)

Are your fingers always drumming away on anything within reach, keeping the beat of your life that only you can hear? Maybe you need to incorporate more instrumentation into your life, which would be very easy if everything you touched could be used as a musical instrument.

Here's a nifty little musical hack that turns a mug full of water into a musical instrument. It's called Mug Music, and it was created by Princeton student Bonnie E using the Arduino platform in conjunction with Touche, a touch sensor system created by Disney. Mug Music is MIDI compatible, so there's no limit to the amount of racket you can create with your favorite beverage!

If you'd like to try your hand at creating some Mug Magic of your own you can find the tutorial here.

does is it still have that effect if you take a 2 hour nap? Is this why other countries have the afternoons off (I forget the word for it, but when they have like an hour to go home and take a nap)? Lucky bastards.

Maybe such information should go out to employers rather than employees - and convince them to give their employees nap time. The reason "Increase your on-the-job alertness by 100 percent" seems quite convincing.
