Spaceship Size Chart - Neatorama

As Darth Vader himself would have said: Impressive. Most impressive. deviantARTist Dirk Loechel has created a chart comparing the relative sizes of spaceships from across many sci-fi and video game series.

Ever wonder how a Borg cube from Star Trek compares to the Kilrathi's Dreadnought from Wing Commander? Now you can!

So far, Loechel has added starships from iconic series like Star Trek, Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica, from video games like Eve Online, Halo, Wing Commander and Star Craft, as well as from movies like District 9, Independence Day, Alien, and Wall-E. And he's still got plenty left to do!

Loechel claimed that the TARDIS is there, which at the chart's resolution of 1 pixel: 10 meter, is either invisible at 0.25 pixel or invisible because it's much, much larger than every spaceship listed combined.

It's "Weyland-Yutani" not "Wayland-Yutani" and the Orbital Refinery from them was only featured in Alien, not Aliens. :P

They mention the competition, AEI. It was my second job after leaving college. AEI made what we called foreground music. Same principal as Muzak but with real songs and real artists instead of insipid remakes. we did so well we forced Muzak to change their format, thank you very much :) Last I heard AEI got bought by a satellite service. My first job was Tower records. I kind of miss working for Tower. though the pay sucked eggs. lol. Several 80's and 90's local Seattle musicians worked for Muzak while starting their career such as Amy Denio who is still going strong. that is what I was doing when I worked for AEI. but I don't play professionally anymore. I am an old fart now. hehe
