What Is It? game 285

Hey look! It's time for our collaboration with the wonderful What Is It? Blog! Do you know what the object in this picture is? It doesn't really matter if you do, because we are looking for the funniest guesses. You can win a t-shirt from the NeatoShop! But first, read the rules:

Place your guess in the comment section below. One guess per comment, please, though you can enter as many as you'd like. Post no URLs or weblinks, as doing so will forfeit your entry. Two winners who submit funny and/or clever (albeit ultimately wrong) answers will each win a T-shirt from the NeatoShop.

If you guess the correct answer, you'll get a big pat on the back.

Please write your T-shirt selection alongside your guess. If you don't include a selection, you forfeit the prize, okay? May we suggest the Science T-Shirt, Funny T-Shirt and Artist-Designed T-Shirts?

There is another picture of the whatisit item at the What Is It? Blog. Good luck!

Update: the pictured tool is a buffing wheel rake, for removing excess buffing compound from a cloth buffing wheel, a photo of one in use can be seen here. Steve Pauk guessed that right, and as promised, wins a virtual pat on the back. We have t-shirts for the two funniest answers this week, one for Trish Schroeder, who declared it to be the hairbrush that Kid's stylist (from Kid n' Play) used to create his hair in the 90's. The other shirt goes to Sam Bacon, who said it's a corn remover for the Hulk's feet! See the answers to all this week's mystery objects at the What Is It? blog.

That's the brain child of a strict, religious mother. See, you use it to brush out a girl's hair, the double handles make for easy "womping" should she not sit still during her Sunday morning torture.

It is a device you use to roof houses. Many houses use thatched roofs. You use this to line up the straw for the thatched roofing.

This was used in the olden times to scrape the grime off of your pig before you took it to your bride to be's father for a bride price.

Half of a Tibetan carding comb for yak's fur. Because the high altitude makes it so frizzy, and it's so naturally tangled, it takes two people to card it for yarn.

This was invented by Gerard D. Kobblestammer as a two handed Fish Scaler, but no one wanted it because it was different from the one handed fish scalers in use at the time. So he sold it as a scalp massager and told everyone as an aside that it actually works better as a fish scaler, and made a tidy fortune. Unfortunately, he married a his cleaning woman, who was not as tidy, contracted syphillus and died penniless and insane. An intelligent man is not necessarily a wise man.

It's a British Toothbrush. How else could you clean those teeth? I am not saying their teeth are awful, but they could eat an apple through a picket fence.

no no no. you people are all wrong!!! Its an old-time muskrat (who has actually heard of a muskrat?) comb/trap. the Muskrat starts to brush itself on it and then WHAM!!!!!! the cage (not seen in picture) closes and then the demonic child who has set it up can then dunk in tho their stew for that nice musky flavor. add a dash of spice from your spice weasel and your all set. Yum!
