I never knew there was such a thing as a state amphibian, but now that I know, I can't help but be disappointed that California does not have one. More than 15 states have a state amphibian, though some share one with other states. Personally, I think we need a national amphibian and each state needs to have their own -that way, a total of 51 amphibians could be honored by US governments.
