I ran into a couple of these while hiking around in mid-Missouri today. Almost got some good photos, but failed.

Now that I know of 'em, I'll put more effort into photographic said funky wasps tomorrow (last day in the midwest).

I found some ambush bugs a few weeks ago, they look kind of like beetles with mantis arms, not as cool as this though.

Found the Wasp type ( almost total yellow body) crawling up my leg today in Park City, Utah. I didn't know they were around here. Amazing looking Insect.
