Kangaroo is a 'at foot' silver euro named Ruby (macropus robustus eurocebens). She is an orphaned female 14 months old and in the process of being weened for release. There is a tiny 6 month old male euro named Rudy under the jacket and out of sight so stay tuned.
Looks like a young kangaroo (a "joey" I believe they're called) being offered something that looks a lot like momma's pouch. The pouch is a safe place to hide from scary old men, so in he goes.
Also yes kangaroo meat is a bit tough, it's ok in flavour but too damn chewy for me.
