Awesome Street Name

@ted Letsby Avenue would be pronounced in exactly the same way as "Lets be having you." Which is a phrase which was supposedly traditionally used by the police in England.

In Lindisfarne Tasmania (Australia) we have Rue De Remarques. Clearly intentional as it's probably the only use of "Rue" in the State.

Jolly, I don't get it. What's the significance of Letsby?

Not too far from where I live in San Francisco we have a Lois Lane.

My favourite is Letsby Avenue near Sheffield Airport and also the base of the South Yorkshire Police helicopter. The story goes that when the site was under construction somebody asked one of the police staff what the road was to be called and he jokingly replied Letsby Avenue and somehow it stuck.

And a few miles up the road there used to be a Butt Hole Road near Connisborough Castle. That's Butt as in archery but. It had been that way for a long, long time until some humourless residents successfully campaigned to have the name changed to Archers Way.

As the reddit page stated, there's a Haveteur Way in San Diego, zip code 92123. Been there for years and years, it's an old neighborhood.
