Norwegian adventurer Aleksander Gamme spent three months in 2011-2012 skiing to the South Pole solo. On day 86, he reached a stash of supplies, and was delighted to find cheese doodles and chocolate. You might think his joy is a bit over-the-top, but I tend to act the same way when I find forgotten chocolate candy. Link
Gamme also has an AMA (ask me anything) thread at reddit. Link
If you've ever been on an extended backpacking trip... about the 5th or 6th day you start dreaming of certain foods.. Indeed after a while the thought of getting back to civilization and certain foods is what keeps you going..
We've done 8-10 day backpacking trips, and your pace quickens on that last day, cause all you are thinking about is eating a big huge meal at some restaurant....
Well entry about Junk Food Jubilation! I just impressed to read this short entry. Love it to read at this moment. Thanks for this good article which is already touched my mind. Thanks!!! :):):)
I always thought The Swedish Chef was an over-the-top impersonation, but now I appreciate the subtle nuances of his performances. (Swedish/Norwegian, same difference.)
2:50 is my favorite part. That rolled R in his exclamation makes me sad that English has no similar sound to include in moments of exultation. Somehow, "awesome!" doesn't compare.
