Honey Bees Drinking Water

YouTube member Beekalmer added sticks and stones to her backyard birdbath to make it easier for honeybees to get water. Parts of this video are in slow motion so you can get a good look at how honeybees drink.

I like at 0:58 a bee bumps into another one as it lands. The bumped bee turns (as if to say..."Hey, what the heck, ruuude!") and the bee that bumped her pats her with a back leg to reassure her/ apologize and she turns back around. (Or at least I like to think so.)

Lovely! I have always loved watching insects and other small creatures up close. You can even tell when an insect or spider is relaxed, fearful, on the hunt, etc. Many people think of them as little robots, but I contend that they feel and think as well as we do, if differently.
