The First Ever Doctor Who Convention

If you're a huge fan of The Doctor, then you'd better get your plane tickets to Cardiff because next year will be the first ever Doctor Who convention. So far the only confirmed guests are Stephen Moffat and Matt Smith, along with Nerdist extraordinaire, Chris Hardwick. Personally, I'm not convinced it's worth the trip unless David Tennant and John Barrowman are coming.

Would any of you head to Cardiff for the convention?

Not the first by a long shot. I attended a Doctor Who convention back in 1986 in Tampa, Florida. Peter Davison was the guest of honor and they premiered Colin Baker episodes. I was a nerd in nerd heaven.

Yeah, I distinctly remember my parents taking me to a Who convention in the 80s in Minnesota. I point to that as a big part of why I'm so nerdy today. Mom pinned parsley to me and my brother's shirts.

@Manticore I first saw Tennant as Campbell in Takin' Over the Asylum. It was a brilliant performance, he certainly blew Ken Stott off the screen. I remember thinking, "blimey he's a bit good for a kid". IIRC he was actually 23 at the time, but still a blinder of a performance.

If, however, there is a single defining part for Tennant it would have to be Casanova. Which was of course another RTD production.
