AT-AT Dog Costume

Geek cred is obviously very important to dogs these days. Katie Mello made this AT-AT costume for her dog so that he'll be the coolest dog going trick-or-treating this year.

if i were a neighbor of the dog's owner, i'd steal him and give him to somebody who'd love him just as a companion, instead of using him as a conversation piece.

LOL! All y'all need to take a break...

Personally I think it's pretty funny...of course my dog would prolly bite my hand off if I tried to do that to him...

I'm still laughing from the picture. I wish all animal cruelty were so benign.

Poor dog is begging for Luke Skywalker to fly past and take him out.

lol

yeah, I think that my pug would love to be dressed up. He doesn't care because he has fun when he is done being dressed. I honestly think he is showing off to our other pets. lol!

What a ridiculous waste of time and resources to have the creative owner of this dog investigated for animal abuse. This is not abuse. If the owner spent this much time and energy to put together this costume, think how much they put into caring for their pet. I'm sure the animals starving to death covered in mange can wait while we punish this artistic pet owner for making such a cute and cool creation.

good grief animals are part of the family in my home and just like kids they sometimes get to dress up or eat too much and stay up too late. NOT cruel if it's just for a short while! Now if it's kept on 24/7....my little dog wears sweaters and coats in the winter which my kids think is crazy...too bad, she likes them!

This cracks me up because it's a greyhound & if you know ANYTHING about greyhounds, once they are retired, they put up with just about anything - especially being dressed up! LOL I bet this pup's owner adores 'em!!

I dont see wats so bad about it and I'm an animal activist. It really depends on how the dog's reacting to it cause i know some dogs who wouldn't mind at all. Its a great costume, but i would suggest that the person just loosens the straps to the top part. I can tell the top part is squeezing his belly in which may not allow him to breathe easy. And that he doesnt have the headset pulling his head and ears so far back, and at least have the tail stick out.

The only thing more disturbing than the look on this dog's face is the disgusting reaction of the people who think this is "cute".

I'm with everyone that sees this as someone who includes their pet as family. I would love to be this creative!! My spoiled little Pom would make a great Ewok to go along! Hmmm, ideas!

Just because dogs have fur doesn't mean they don't get cold or freeze to death. People who think it's cruel to dress up animals are off their rocker.

On the other hand, people who have animals that would attack them, and consider those animals "pets" are also off their rocker. Sorry Raf3. End Human Cruelty today!

I am siding with Angela F....This is either a Greyhound or a Whippet. I have a Whippet and as long as there is some food in it for them they don't care what you put on them. They are the easiest going dog ever. And they have only one coat of fur so if you want them to be outside on Halloween they need somethign on them or else they'll freeze!!! Granted this is a little much. But come on stop going overboard on the animal cruelty thing. Stop being so F**cking sensitive.

I have seen so many stray dogs running down the road in ghetto neighborhoods, barrios, etc...

Why don't you people focus attention towards going and saving those dogs, instead being on a high horse like your shit doesn't stink.

My weimaraner would be perfect for this costume! I'm normally not one to like dressing up dogs only because I think its lame. It's definitely not cruel. My moms poodles loves all the clothes she has and my dog honestly doesn't mind me dressing her up because she knows I love her and wouldnt do anythig to harm her. You people screaming animal cruelty must not have ever seen examples of REAL animal cruelty. It would male your stomach churn.

Honestly I work at a petstore and see all sorts of people, but the people who put their aniimals in costumes usually treat them like their children, because of that I don't see this as abusive. Just a little irritating if it hinders any movement. Most costumes are made to fit them without that hazard and allow the animal to stay warm. Thus being beneficial on a cold halloween night.

LMAO...you ppl bitching about this being cruel....ummmm, I guess it is okay to dress our babies up in itchy costumes just for the pure joy of seeing someones face melt when they see them all chubby in a ladybug outfit...but god forbid we put a dog in something...is it cruel when we do it to our kids? Get a life peeps!

There's nothing abusive about this costume. The dog is a greyhound - that's why he looks so skinny in it. You can tell both the body suit and the "robotic" parts fit loosely - the dog's not being restrained at all by it.

My dog is a flat-coated retriever mix, and he LOVES dressing up. He gets super-proud and can't wait to show everybody when he can wear clothes like his people do, even though it's a special-occasion thing (since he also partakes in toddler habits such as rolling in mud and digging under the porch).

If I had to hazard a guess, this dog's look of concern is less about the costume and more about "Why do I have to stand on this all-white place all by myself? Why isn't mom here? Does this take long?" Dogs can be difficult to photograph solo like that, because they're social animals.

That really is hiralious, but the poor dog looks very unhappy. From what I have heard is that animal costumes is an enormous business, this really isn't any different then a glorified dog sweater. I am quite sure that dog is pampered well, fed well, and gloriously happy with his owner. Some dogs love getting dressed up. Personally, there isn't any cruelity with wearing a costume... people need to stop being so overly sensitive.

Now I want to make an Ewok costume for my toy poodle. She wears sweaters pretty much all the time anyway (and she loves them), a leather hood wouldn't be that different.

This is a cute and creative costume. The pup looks so cute. To those who say that this is animal cruelty need to wise up. Clothes do not hurt a dog(unless it is too tight). If they are short haired like my dogs, it helps greatly in the winter. And just because the pup has a "sad" face in the picture, doesn't mean he is miserable. My dog Harley pouts every time I take a photo of him. This pup is obviously very loved and cared for. Btw, my dog Pugsly loves clothes. I show her one of her hoodies and she bounds up to me and once it is on, she shows it off.

Wow, really excellent job! I have a whippet and I think she'd look fab in this. She loves to get dressed up and often asks for a sweater. This is an awesome upgrade.

I am a loving dog owner and I think this is hilarious. For those who think this is animal cruelty, shame on you. You don't know anything about the dog. If the owners spent this much time on making their dog look this hilarious, imagine how much that dog means to them. Take a freakin' pill.

haha, stick your kid in a costume and its totally cool, stick your dog in a costume and its CRUELTY.

people crying cruelty probably do absolutely nothing for animal rights that doesn't involve sitting in front of a computer.

slactivists.

Lmao this is cute as hell! What's extremely disturbing are the nasty comments and name calling. It's great everyone has opinions, but to immediately start calling people fucktards and bitches? That's just disgusting behavior.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
HA! I LOVE IT!!! I run a local greyhound group (iggies and whippets are all in the same family) and I can tell you..they are USED to wearing clothes mostly because they need them stay warm...so I doubt the dog is bothered by the getup...in fact, it's probably super warm. Hilarious.

This picture gives me an idea: I'm going to find sad pics from the SPCA and Photoshop on some costumes. Chique hip ones, maybe nerdy stuff to attract another group of zealots. Maybe get the Bronies involved.

Maybe turn it into a video file, contact Adelle and contract her to make a super sad song, and then post it on YouTube.

Why? For the lols
