This water rocket is no mere toy. George Katz has built a machine that looks like kludge, but is all genius. The first stage rises 163 feet into the air before detaching the second stage, which clears 810 feet before parachuting to the ground.

Have you done any experiments with PVC pipe to see what kinds of pressures it can withstand? I'm thinking that a small diameter pipe maybe a meter long could be a nice third stage. Any plans for a 3rd stage?

Oops I didn't see the link on the Construction of the rocket. But I still don't think a typical soda bottle would withstand 120 psi.
