What Is It? game 187

Once again, it's time for our collaboration with the always amusing What Is It? Blog. Do you know what the pictured item is? Can you make a wild guess?

Place your guess in the comment section below. One guess per comment, please, though you can enter as many as you'd like. Post no URLs or weblinks, as doing so will forfeit your entry. Two winners: the first correct guess and the funniest (albeit ultimately wrong) guess will win T-shirt from the NeatoShop.

Please write your T-shirt selection alongside your guess. If you don't include a selection, you forfeit the prize, okay? May we suggest the Science T-Shirt, Funny T-Shirt and Artist-Designed T-Shirts?

For more clues, check out the What Is It? Blog.

Update: The item in question is a tool that was used to make cavities in bullet molds during the Civil War, sometimes called a bullet mold cherry. Electronix and Winslow both knew the answer. One was a little earlier; the other was more specific, so we are giving t-shirts to both of them! The funniest answer came from rob, who said,"It happens to be part of an ancient game. Originally called Paleolithic Roulette, it's played much like today's version of Russian Roulette. It is spinned (like a dreidel) and whoever it lands on gets the pointed side rammed into their temporal lobe." For that, he also wins a t-shirt!

It could be an antique medical surgical drill / milling cutter to be used e.g. for skull trepanation. These things gives me the creeps, and i am really happy to live in an time in which anesthesia has already been invented.

A juicer, use the tapered end to score the fruit before cutting in half. Then use the round part of the tool as a juicer.

It is a device to put a round mold into an object. You would hit the small end with a hammer or load in into some type of press and it would leave the imprint of the rounded end in the material.

It's a lobotomized and a brain poke. The sharp part is used for poking a hole in the skull (for the lobotomy part), and the part that looks like an orange squeezer can be used for doing scientific tests for the brain. "What happens if I squeeze here..?" "Hm, I wonder would this part handle the language/motor skills/work as a sexual suppressant to cure this teenager..?". No undo-button so please be careful when you poke the brain.

It is type of "bit" used with a "brace, and since it is tapered we are not talking high speed. Could it be used to smooth out the finger holes of bowling balls?

It could be a special tool used by a medic for re-shaping the eye socket of a patient to conform it to an ocular prothesis...

This is the world's first prototype Exclamation Mark. Interestingly enough, the guy that invented it accidentally hit his thumb while putting the final touches on it and rapidly had to make a whole bunch more!

It's a camping bedpost. You punch 4 of those into the ground when out camping and it feels just like being in your own bed! What a marvel!

I think it might be a "cherrying" tool intended for making a spherical recess between two pieces of metal.

I believe it is the world's second-worst sex toy.

For my prize, I would like the XXL Schroedinger's Cat: Wanted Dead And/Or Alive t-shirt.

(The world's worst sex toy, as everybody knows, is Megan Fox.)
