World's Smallest Ad

This ad for Gillette by the French agency CLM BBDO is less than a hundred microns across. It was inscribed on a hair that was shaved off with a Gillette razor. The agency has contacted Guinness World Records to establish its claim for the smallest advertisement in the world. You can view a video about the production of the ad at the link. Gillette will lose, and not just because of IBM (which will be hard to beat, unless maybe you are HP).

Essentially every integrated circuit has both a company logo somewhere in the circuit design, in otherwise empty locations only a few nanometers across, or the designer's initials, or a cartoon character, or other doodles. Engineers are weird, but sometimes amusing.
