Miniature But Functional Firearms

For forty years, Alexander Perfiliev has been making miniature model firearms. They're duplicates of the actual designs (such as the Makarov pistol pictured above) scaled way, way down. English Russia reports that they actually work. We've seen functional miniature guns in the past, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

i've always been fascinated by miniatures, especially functioning ones (i still want to tackle a miniature firing canon one of these days!) having owned several "real life" examples these firearms myself, his attention to detail is beyond impressive and if he hadn't included matchsticks to show the scale of his model, i wouldn't have guessed how tiny they were!

(BTW, a small spelling correction: the pistol is a "Makarov", not "Marakov").

I think it's a testament to natural selection (or your preferred Creator), that despite all of the advances in technology, the camel is still the best way to traverse the sandy dunes. It's a testament to man's ingenuity that we can have such a private view of a desert half a world away. I can't wait for Google Street View integration with Oculus.
